Linux Specific Issues / I can't create a character.

Hi everybody.
I have installed and updated planeshift successfully on my debian etch, i enter the game, my account and password, but in the character screen, it don't let me create a new one (so i have no character to play), and i have a Waiting for server data all the time in the top of the screen.
The error log, just throw this:
Mon Aug 4 02:26:50 2008, <src/common/paws/pawsimagedrawable.cpp:56 PreparePixmap SEVERE>
Mon Aug 4 02:26:50 2008, Could not open image: >/planeshift/items/ladle01a_icon.dds<
Anyone can help me?
