Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Server working but does not allow me to connect

I logged off and when I tried to log back on, the server said failed.  My alt was online and working fine.  I logged HIM off and could not longer connect to the server, while other players were still able to connect.  What did I do to cause an inability to connect?
