Not having played yet due to the server...possibly requiring rather then encouraging RP, however some games that do this wind up loosing players. In my experience, more players would prefer to just level, and go to those types of games rather then one with pure RP (which is a little sad because I can think of nothing more fun then pure RP).

Another option if the game doesn't have it.. is allow a small amount of leveling just by being ig. This seems to have the advantage of taking the "pressure" off of skilling and allowing more RP.

Being very new, I can understand both points having played "good" and "evil" chars other games. Also the same thing is complained about not using guild chat but msn. IMO if someone can "send a dove or bird or post" before dying, fine, but not after. I would assume one or two may get that message. (I also think on the whole bad guys don't win and need to be prepared for that with their ic char), yet at the same time it makes the game more exciting with the "bad" chars and I wouldn't want to see a game not allow them.

To be picky:

The OOC term "noob" does not belong to an IC emotive "/me". ;)

Apart from that, most players I meet try to act in a roleplaying style, try to stay in-character. We don't enforce, we support.

That is good to hear, i.e. "picky" it doesn't seem the appropriate word for IC RP to me either and support is good, I hope to meet some RPers in game. Right now have been trying to understand/read the history, rules etc.  before making a char. Thanks for all your input.

Indeed, RP is the norm here.  We just have a few babies here, that's all.  But that's typical with about any game that has some degree of RP in it.

I was hoping the

/me thinks xx is a noob
was not the norm, some friends and I with a love of RP were thinking of trying the game, and am glad that RP is the norm, thanks!

thinking that anything said with /me counts for roleplay (example: /me thinks xx is a noob).

Looking for a game with RP opportunities, can I assume that this RP is the norm, or not? I read a few pages of posts, but some were confusing to the point of even downplaying RP.
