Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Stuck between regions? I think?

I was walking around and as I was entering a new region, I got booted.  Then when I tried to relog, I get "error loading region" or something like that.  I've done the re-updating thing... I'm on a Mac, OS X. 

I can't even log in to play my character?

What gives?  Did I go somewhere I wasn't supposed to?
