I updated it as much as the manufacturer allows for, but I'm still having the issue. Strangely, though, I've discovered this is an issue I only seem to have in and directly around cities...  are there, perchance, settings that might help ease such an issue? Otherwise I guess I'll probably be a hermit, living up by the Bronze Doors....

Technical Help: IN GAME bugs (after loading world) / Blurred ground
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:16:59 am »
Hi guys! I'm an old fan of PS, from the Crystal Blue days, coming back to play now... and I've discovered I've got some issues.

I'm running a (less than ideal) laptop - a 1555 Studio Dell, and, since I don't know what all you need, I'll give you all my dxdiag results at the bottom. But first, please look at this:

^ THIS is my odd problem. As you can see, the ground is blurry, smeared, if you will. What you can't see but might imagine is it blurs continuously upon character movement. This is regardless of the aspect ratio, screen resolution, or graphics quality. Also, I can't seem to update... I've hit repair... it takes me to a blank... well.... this -

- so I'm at a bit of a loss.

Finally, here are my specs...

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
          Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     T6600  @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
             Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4028MB RAM

    DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
       Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to examine the problem. I appreciate it very much!

So, I'm coming back to PS for the first time in three years, finally with my own laptop to play it on, and now that I have it nicely DL'd and installed... it won't run. This is, as the topic states, another case of "Exception_Access_Violation at 04B2D840"

Now, I've read about a few of these cases hoping for some insight, but as I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, this is largely going over my head. What I know is that I can't get it to open on my laptop, nor can I open the Planeshift Setup (so those fixes are out). At this point, I'm not quite sure what to do. I remember enjoying the game in the past, and I'd really like to play it again, so all help is appreciated.

My stats are as follows:
Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6000) (6000.vista_gdr.090302-1506)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
       System Model: Inspiron 1521
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A06
          Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
             Memory: 1918MB RAM
Page File: 1452MB used, 2604MB available
        Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
     DxDiag Version: 6.00.6000.16386 32bit Unicode

... if you need to know anything else, please just tell me what and I'll gladly see about getting the information. I don't really understand all of the details in here, I'm just copying from the report. *is a tech noob* In any case, thanks in advance for taking a look at this guys. I really appreciate it.
