Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Re: Start issues

I just downloaded the game and it is not allowing me to update.. It is also saying the client is not responding. I am running Vista and read through all the trouble shooting and cannot seem to figure out why it will not find the client or update can you help me?
