Well, it should at least have penalties. Wouldn\'t be fun if two archers stand on either side of the beast and shoot/distract in turn. They could slaughter every (melee) beast without getting hurt.

Since waving/shouthing/jumping really gets tiresome, maybe something in this direction. Don\'t know if there\'s gonna be stamina though.

Don\'t know whether this has been discussed before. Couln\'t find it, though.

But I think it would be cool if you could get a trophy. (kind of like Fallout, where you can get the tail of the radscorpion. It isn\'t a trophy, but the idea is the same)
After all, if you\'ve just killed this really badass monster it would be great if you could hang his head above your fire place in your house.
Makes good party talk, too.  ;)

I dunno. The current system seems kinda flawed. For example:

I\'m a lvl 50 character. I\'m having a REALLY bad day. So I decide to take it out on the n00bs. I kill 9 low-lvl n00bs in a row. With that system of yours it would mean I still am lvl 5. Let\'s kill some more newly arrived punching bags, since it can\'t get any lower.

So the PvP becomes a problem again.

/EDIT: just thought of this: If your weapons are stats-dependent, it would be effective (or at least more effective) since you can\'t yield your favo weapon...
And I wouldn\'t think of keeping a spare lvl5 weapon filling my precious inventory...

I agree. Possible for every class.

As for how the taunt should work: I imagine it would be more something like a distraction. The best way to distract would be to jump, wave your arms and shout at the same time.

Would make for a good laugh, too :D

I don\'t think you should add this much contracts. Instead of paying in front, pay after the service has been done. Or a little up front, rest later.

This way, the merc does a louzy job, for example he sits under a tree trying to figure out gravity. You\'d rather see those apples in the basket.
Now you won\'t pay him (or pay less). This way he must work for his money, because otherwise people won\'t hire him.

If you die, too bad. That means the merc didn\'t do a good job, so no reward.

This system also encourages really trying to please the one who hired you as a merc. If you do your job more than good, you might get a bonus.

Why use all these magical hollow tree\'s? If you really need to transport an expensive item over a long way you should just carry it with you. This way you\'ll have to be careful what to take with you and what not, because you don\'t want to loose everything.

More realism and more decisions to be made.

Or you could mail it. A Postman \'guild\' would be cool, IMHO. But that\'s besides the point here.

Buying other players wouldn\'t make sense. What if you are online but he/she isn\'t? You can\'t possibly force a player to be online when you want to...
Or the other way around: your slave is online, but you aren\'t. What could that person do? Go away? But what if you need him/her when you come online?
Escaping slavery would be too easy, too.

Mercs are the way to go.

My main concern is that if you would implement this divinity with cult following, the most powerful demigod would become increasingly powerful, while the other demigods would stay at the same level.

After all. You are a weak warrior. You would like to follow a cult. You can choose between the demigod with the really cool powers or the demigod with the not so really cool powers. Not a tough choise.

On another note: cults are usually frowned upon by (long) existing religions. So that would mean that paladins would try to do everything to stop this evil cult thingy. Could be interesting...

Because such a calendar (good idea, btw) could be filled quite fast, I think it would be cool if there were (mostly?) local celebrations. It wouldn\'t make sense if there was a party throughout the world in memory of the liberation of -insert city name here-.

And it would be cool if you travelled a long way and then find yourself in a city celebrating some party. See what different answers you get when asking for the reason of this festivity. ;)

They have a word for that: jumping :P

But maybe the wings could be used to reduce falling speed, and therefor they could fall from higher places.

Well, corruption would solve itself, eventually. If the citizens don\'t like it, they either rebel or wait until the next election.

If the citizens however like a pirate-city, they would re-elect the person. If the mayor then gets too much power: rebellion!

Of course the news of the good or evil city would spread, and good people go to the good city and evil people to the evil city. Would be really great to see those cities develop. (evil cities could get darker textures?)
Where the good cities create peace by throwing the evil people in jail, the evil cities enforce peace by hiring an evil guild to do something to the annoying good-doing paladin who came to restore peace and found out too much. Banishment from the city perhaps (for a certain amount of time)?

Now about the election, i think the best way would be to create a NPC-clerk in an office or so who says something like: \"Who do you choose? Smith or Johnson?\"
Then you could just reply with the name you like. Almost like IRL.

Although this might make it easier, it doesn\'t improve rp\'ing. Instead of ppl saying \"And then I cast the most beatiful super-rainbow attack, blinding and sweeping away those foul beasts into the dark pits they came from\" they now would say \"I cast 13337\"

IMHO that isn\'t fun.

I think it\'s a wonderful idea. That way I could play hide and seek without feeling ashamed \'cause I\'m an adult :D

But seriously. The four stages are just fine. And of course the diversity would be great. All those Enkidukai\'s are just getting a bit... the same... ;)

But it\'s fun! Isn\'t that what the game\'s about?

IMO it would enhance the rp because you could write about yourself, perhaps also publish it on your website (what better advertisement then seeing an actual experience a player has when playing the game?). Thus you would stay focused on your character.

Now I don\'t know anything about the difficulties of coding such a feature, but if it were real I\'d certainly make use of it. I like to write, but I never know what. Even if it is just for me, putting that book on my shelve in my house, it\'d be fun reading it back.

Perhaps a \'log record\' button could be implemented, so that your idle chats wouldn\'t get recorded?

Yeeeaaah. I recall having heard of a monkey librarian. Plz refresh my memory.

I think the librarian monkey was in Monkey Island (3? 4?). Figures :P

Well, the movies I wanted to tell were already mentioned.

But I try to follow as many Anime series as possible.

Gundam, which is supposed to have a good story (still gotta see em though, my brother has \'em...)
Neon Evangelion Genesis (sp?), but haven\'t seen the end yet :\'(
