Oh ya the Elephant Show....

One elephant went out to play
upon a spiders web one day
he had such enormous fun
that he called for another elephant to come

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: company issues, ideas help wanted

I"ve started a business in the last 5 months,  I live in a town of maybe 4000, 100 KM to the next town of similar population.  There is heavy government money in town to drive economics which may not be available in your area.

My marketing strategy was simple. design a clean easily identifiable logo, print business cards (I know this costs some, first batch I did at home) , and go knock on doors,  make my face known, present your self as a option to call on.  I made sure I hit all the business, town run buildings, try presenting your self as a "sub contractor" (sorry I'm in Construction) to business as an option to hiring full time tech support.  Also ask if the business will keep several cards of yours to give out if they hear of others who need work done.

I'm an Electrician and already I have enough work ... in fact I end up working 9-10 hrs most days with paper work, estimating, ordering, and accounting.

I realize your Village may be to small for this, but these are just ideas maybe this will give you an idea that will work for you.

I Am A: Lawful Good Human /Cleric (3rd/2nd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-16

Dexterity-15

Constitution-17

Intelligence-15

Wisdom-14

Charisma-13

Alignment:
Lawful Good A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Monks are versatile warriors skilled at fighting without weapons or armor. Good-aligned monks serve as protectors of the people, while evil monks make ideal spies and assassins. Though they don't cast spells, monks channel a subtle energy, called ki. This energy allows them to perform amazing feats, such as healing themselves, catching arrows in flight, and dodging blows with lightning speed. Their mundane and ki-based abilities grow with experience, granting them more power over themselves and their environment. Monks suffer unique penalties to their abilities if they wear armor, as doing so violates their rigid oath. A monk wearing armor loses their Wisdom and level based armor class bonuses, their movement speed, and their additional unarmed attacks per round.

Secondary Class:
Clerics act as intermediaries between the earthly and the divine (or infernal) worlds. A good cleric helps those in need, while an evil cleric seeks to spread his patron's vision of evil across the world. All clerics can heal wounds and bring people back from the brink of death, and powerful clerics can even raise the dead. Likewise, all clerics have authority over undead creatures, and they can turn away or even destroy these creatures. Clerics are trained in the use of simple weapons, and can use all forms of armor and shields without penalty, since armor does not interfere with the casting of divine spells. In addition to his normal complement of spells, every cleric chooses to focus on two of his deity's domains. These domains grants the cleric special powers, and give him access to spells that he might otherwise never learn. A cleric's Wisdom score should be high, since this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

i dont use Windows so if some one else could help Kerrie's friend get through the toughest phase of PS we could have one more player in this awesome game!

ok here is what I'm getting .... thanks for  the patients :whistling:

/applications/planeshift  open ./pslaunch.app --args --console
-bash: /applications/planeshift: is a directory

i tryed just using:

open ./pslaunch --args --console

the result:

open: unrecognized option `--args'
Usage: open [-e] [-t] [-f] [-W] [-n] [-g] [-h] [-b <bundle identifier>] [-a <application>] [filenames]
Help: Open opens files from a shell.
By default, opens each file using the default application for that file.
If the file is in the form of a URL, the file will be opened as a URL.
Options:
-a                Opens with the specified application.
-b                Opens with the specified application bundle identifier.
      -e                Opens with TextEdit.
-t                Opens with default text editor.
-f                Reads input from standard input and opens with TextEdit.
-W, --wait-apps   Blocks until the used applications are closed (even if they were already running).
-n, --new         Open a new instance of the application even if one is already running.
-g, --background  Does not bring the application to the foreground.
-h, --header      Searches header file locations for headers matching the given filenames, and opens them.

I've tried omitting the args   and just used --console  i get the above message coming up

is the --args  using the above options?  if so is the "r" correct?

I've tried a lot of variations but no luck yet

ok still having trouble and not sure what to do next
PSlaunch is still closing as soon as I click  "yes"  to the update

http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=36710.msg417327#msg417327
original message for this fix is above .....

Sarva's tip is good for getting the correct command line in terminal  :flowers:

On a Mac you can open a terminal window and then go to the application folder and drag the Planeshift application folder to the terminal window to change the terminal location to the planeshift folder.

this is what i entered into terminal and the response

<my name goes here>:~ <my first name>$ /Applications/PlaneShift/pslaunch.app --args --console
-bash: /Applications/PlaneShift/pslaunch.app: is a directory

sorry I'm no expert but hopefully this may help someone else

thanks again for the help

i was having the same issues...

the down load i used was 414 mb  too.

did you run the ps launch?  and fix your files?

i made sure their was no ps file in my application support and the ps launch fix created it for me.
i actualy saved my old ones in a different file and re-named it which kept my short cuts and logs,

hope you get it working
