hmm...you know I have a friend who has this same problem.


But anywise, the only thing I can think of is the fact he uses AOL while I use Earthlink.

I used to use AOL my self a while ago(about 10 years ago), but I left due to the fact that at the time they used a pseudo acceleration technique that involved an extra router(i.e. not a real PPP or SLIP connection could happen)

I do not believe they have changed their system yet.
And if the Link Dead people are using AOL this might be the cause.

Dis it as much as you like, but at least its not another Assassins Guild.

And when the creatures are activitated then it will be no problem since you will be able to get hides from killing monsters.

I have to put my two cents worth in.

A game like this should have the Possibility of Pking in it.

It adds to the flavor of the game in my opinion.

But then I think only certain places should have the Pking possible like out side town, in dungeons, not on roads...etc.   The problem is that even with those things, many a PKer will just sit and ambush people.

I liked the idea about the a person commiting the act becoming wanted after commiting an act of this nature.
And then maybe a reward could be gained.
It added a nice interesting side thing for the game, heck people could become professional Thieves and others could become proffesional Bounty Hunters....
I don\'t know why but that sounds kind of interesting to me.

The biggest problem I see is what exactly would be the reward for Pking someone....
I mean if the person killing another player can rob that individual would that be fair......but then if they could not rob the person....hmm

I suppose the only remedy would be a bank system for the person to hold their stuff, or perhaps making it so the person being killed could only lose the armor they have equiped, the weapon they have equiped and maybe their cash....

This problem sounds like it could be multiple things

A Driver problem....
Which is a problem i doubt you have
But in that particular case make sure you are  using the newest driver set and using Direct 8 or higher.


Another possibility is that the Graphics card you are using is not working with the mode you are selecting.
This means either the graphics card has had part of its chip set burn out or else the graphics mode you set via the setup program is incorrect...i.e. there may have been a change in the game that has made the Graphics setting you chose incompatible for some reason.

The last possibility is...and I hate to say this....is corrupted data files.
In this case you can try the program on the main site to verify your files, which I am not to sure would help, or you can re-install the program, don\'t worry your character will not be lost.

The second possibility sounds the most plausible though.

I mostly run this game in GL mode with 32bit graphics and at 1024 by 768 resolution.
I believe some other people have pointed out that this mode selection seems to work the best....

If none of the above solutions work, I dont know what to tell you, except that you might have to get a Graphics card to run a field test with to verify if your Graphics Chip set is working properly.
I had a Graphics card develope a similar problem with its chips partialy burning out, it registered it was working, but refursed to do High resolution graphics.
