If you use torrent, this is the magnet link (this is the old official one, I'm still hosting this):
magnet:?dn=PlaneShift-v0.5.8-x64.exe&xt=urn:sha1:7HME2FRLEBCKHSA5GYD3IQHLLMRMTAYQ
magnet:?dn=PlaneShift-v0.5.8.exe&xt=urn:sha1:AGEJMCNS76AOMA4MSNV566NZT2XGATXS

I don't know if you use ed2k (emule or similar), but if you do you can get 0.5.8 from here (if anyone hosts it):
ed2k://|file|PlaneShift-v0.5.8-x64.exe|784730918|42A3C43E4F69463ED9FC639D407C5B39|/ hosts

As suggested several times before: Try to log in with version 0.5.8. Give it a few minutes, then try again with 0.5.9.
I had the same problem (can't log in with old e-mailaccount). When I install 0.5.8 x64 on Win 7 (as suggested above) I can't log in as the client don't find the servers, "Zeroping Host (RP) = Failed" and "Ezpcusa (Non-RP) = Failed". When I try 0.5.9 x64 it say "Laanx server (Main)", but I can't log in.

So I tried to:
1. Install 0.5.8 x64
2. Open C:\Program Files (x86)\PlaneShift\data\servers.xml and changed 62.173.168.9 in two places to planeshift.subhosting.net
3. Started 0.5.8 x64, now "Zeroping Host (RP)" is responding, and I can log in = \\o//
4. I join with one of my characters and play for a minuter or two, then I quit the game
5. I start the game again "as administrator" and choose Yes when it asks if I want to update now, wait for it to update...
6. After a while I get 0.5.9 and it starts up, but I can't log in  :(
7. I quit 0.5.9 and install 0.5.8 x64 on top of the one I just tried, after that I changed servers.xml as above.
8. I start 0.5.8 x64 (without updating) and log in, it works again.
9. I ask for help, and a GM tells me to:
a) Log out with 0.5.8 x64
b) Start Planeshit, DELETE THE PASSWORD and then manually rewrite it again to login.
c) To change my username e-mail I need to talk with Weltall, best in IRC in #planeshift-gmtalk channel or do a petition from my account.
10. I quit 0.5.8 x64, start 0.5.8 x64 again (without updating), delete my password, manually enter it again and join.
11. I quit 0.5.8 x64,  I start the game again "as administrator" and choose Yes when it asks if I want to update now, wait for it to update...
12. I start 0.5.9, delete my password, manually enter it again and now I get in  \\o//

Maybe this can help someone. Next I will try to change my login username e-mail...

PS. You can get 0.5.8 from here: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=40860.0

General Discussion / Re: New PlaneShift Release 0.5.5 !!
« on: February 01, 2011, 12:34:06 pm »
When I try to download any of the Torrent files from http://www.planeshift.it/download.html, e.g. these:

I get this (both IE and Fozilla):

Not a big problem as the Direct Download links works OK. But as you say "Please save our bandwidth and use uTorrent if you can", we should check why there is a problem with the Torrent files (it may be only temporary, who knows).

EDIT
It was temporary or someone fixed the problem. Now all Torrent file links works.

Raffe, I meant a pic of the real CD, with the case printed out and you holding it with a smile :)
;D Ha ha, sorry, I made a fool of myself :-[ I blame the fact that my mother language is not English :surrender:

5
Anyone with a pic of the CD?

Cool, maybe I should enable the sound again (after update)... Maybe like this: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/smf/index.php?topic=34258.0

Hi, i fixed your bugs (and I hope didn't add too many new ones!).

Well it was about relative paths. The SVG specification is so horribly imprecise. I just read it wrong.

On the way, I found another bug, which is ... pretty strange. I fixed it, but don't know why it works this way round and not the way I had it O.o

Anyway, this showed me much more that there are probably more bugs in there. Just tell me if you find another one!

You can download the new version from here.

Thanks for the find! :)
:thumbup: Thank YOU for your fantastic work!  :love:

I will  try the new release when I get home this evening... Cant wait!  \\o//

For this XML
Code: [Select]
<pages>
<page l='24' w='500' h='600' t='50'>
<ln col='0' pts='-71 -106 -71 -106'/>
<ln col='0' pts='43 137 191 137'/>
<ln col='0' pts='43 137 43 274'/>
<ln col='0' pts='191 137 191 274'/>
<ln col='0' pts='43 274 191 274'/>
</page>
</pages>

I used this SVG (in Pastebin):

PlaneShift Mods / Re: Conversion SVG <-> Sketch XML

Hi!

I run XP.
I went to http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/downloads and installed Ruby.
I went to http://inkscape.org/download/?lang=en and installed Inkscape
I made one line, three lines (a triangle) and a rectangle (with rectangle tool) in Inkscape.
In Inkscape I saved test4.svg
With Ruby I did
Code: [Select]
C:\Ruby\sketchxmlapi>ruby svg2sketchxml.rb test4.svg test4.xml
./planeshift_sketch_xml.rb:143: warning: parenthesize argument(s) for future ver
sion
SVG2SketchXML 0.3b
Simple SVG path to PlaneShift Sketch XML converter
Copyright (c) 2009 by Simon Paridon

Converting test4.svg...
Saving test4.xml...
Finished!

I loaded test4.xml to Planeshift map. But I only see the rectangle, not the triangle or the line. If I write only lines, I dont see them. My XML:
Code: [Select]
- <pages>
- <page l="24" w="744" h="1052" t="50">
  <ln col="0" pts="326 98 326 98" />
  <ln col="0" pts="103 87 254 87" />
  <ln col="0" pts="103 87 103 195" />
  <ln col="0" pts="254 87 254 195" />
  <ln col="0" pts="103 195 254 195" />
  </page>
  </pages>
Any ideas?

Yes, I agree. The only thing I could think of was the md5 checksums in http://www.planeshift.it/download.html that may make the links more trust worthy. Or not.

12
If you use a eDonkey and/or Kademilia client (like eMule, MLDonkey etc), you can use these links to download the game.

If you like, check the files with the md5 checksums you find in http://www.planeshift.it/download.html

Server Status / Re: December 11, 2009: server down?
« on: December 11, 2009, 09:55:18 pm »
I see that what I write looks like I'm just whining. Therefore, I hereby offer my services to give everyone relevant information before things happen on PlaneShift servers. I can do that here on the forums. The only thing I need is to get the info before things happends, and I will post it here in the right place.

And you could tell the people who DONATE the server to us that we love them, but we would appreciate if they informed us before they do changes (Im sure THEY know before they do changes, I can not believe that it is a impulsive decision)

I know that this a volunteering project and open source and that all involved are volunteers. But communication is not about money or service, this is about common respect for others.

If 'someone' is updating the 'server', it can't be a suprise for everybody involved. Somebody should know that before, and can post here.

 :love:
Note, I love Planeshift. I'm sorry, but the information around Planeshift does not work. Information should come before things happen, not after. If the information comes after it is a declaration of a disruption. Information is better than disruption.

Server Status / Re: December 11, 2009: server down?
« on: December 11, 2009, 09:14:11 pm »
Only a very select few people have access to updating the main site and it's a much longer process to do so.  It's much easier to just make a post on the forums and nudge people in the proper direction.
  • But 'you' never make the first post on the forums. 'You' just wait for the players to 'find out' there is a problem, and for them to post here.
  • So if the main page is so difficult, why don't post here before a user finds out there is a problem?
  • Why not make a proper post a few days before in 'Server Status' before you take down the servers?
  • And if you KNOW you will take down a server in about, say, 5 days, why not say to the 'few people' that 'have access to updating the main site' to post it on the main site 5 days before you do that?
