Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Update Problem

Im on OSX 10.4.11.  I did all the updating and deleted the old PS.  When I try to get into the game I get to the point where it shows my character but the rest of the screen is screwy and I can't by that spot.  Any ideas?
