I am having the exact same problem, got the uTorrent, let it download through that, installed the game, and I get the same message.  Uninstalled, reinstalled, still the same message.  Installed over it without uninstalling, still got the same message.  I am using Windows XP Media 05, never have I had a problem playing a game I install, except Command and Conquer 3, but that was because I needed to get a graphics card, other then that, I've never had a direct problem.  "done the fixes in the readme file in the PlaneShift", what do I fix here if this is the problem?
