Hi All,

Cheers for the replies. I know its an old and very tired topic, and your all probably very sick of hearing about it..

it is a shame that there isn't a "cartography" skill, or in fact some form of up to date map, even if its just a basic "city by city" style. it wouldnt have to be the real world in miniture, but a reference to enable people to actually find their way to somewhere without getting lost all the time.

I did try asking in game, but got chuckled at and told "just head out of east gate and you will get there" ---- tried that: got lost.

Anyways: Again, I appreciate the replies..

Cheers All

Andy

Ok, folks: here’s the deal.

I have been playing Planeshift on and off for a few years, and everytime I come back to it I think “have further items been implemented” The obvious answer is: No.
What I am asking is: Is there anywhere a map? I know this has been asked numerous times, and will no doubt be again.

I have read the some of the other posts regarding this, and most of the time people are saying “Well, it’s more fun to explore if you dont have a map”

Ok, I can see and definatley understand this view point. I also know that Planeshift isn’t a complete game yet, but surely a mini map of some description would be A: helpful , and B: sensible.
Why “sensible?” Well put it this way: If you have a quest and you need to get somewhere and have no idea how to get there you will be aimlessly wondering around for days, and even if you ask someone you get cryptic replies.
Also a map of some description enables you to get more done which, in the long/short run makes the entire game alot more fun. Does it not? Yes, ok, there are numerous sign posts on what can only loosley be called “roads” but they only give you a general direction, and tbh, are far too spaced out to be of any real use.
Anyway, mini point of view session over. But I stick by my original question: Any maps out there?
Cheers

Ps: I have considered making one myself, but I have no clue how to go about it. I also know that there is a map in the “library” but is so out-dated that columbus would have issues....
