I haven't done much roleplaying in the past to be honest but I'm interested in anything that adds fun to the game!

yeah i kind of thought it was a good name for a Dwarf but figured it'd get changed anyway haha spoil sports.  ;)

Thanks to Venalan for the quick and painless change! Samaris Ahmadeeu is ready and rocking out. Anyone looking to join up let me know! Though I'm very weaka nd just tryign to get my mining/smithing skills up right now... Should start wandering into the sewers more too I think, getting a little tired of constant running in the quests haha

I spent a lot of time running around doing quests, that's kind of why i don't want to restart. I was planning on just playing  abit to see what it was like and then building the character I wanted but then I found I wanted this one... It's name is Rockme Ahmadeeus so I assume that will violate teh naming policy (it is a Dwarf though so Rock kind of fits I thought...)

So to get a GM I do a petition or something?

Is it possible to change the name of my character? I created a test character with a silly name and then decided I actually liked him.. Or do I just wait for a GM to notice and change it for me? Should I send a petition?

Linux Specific Issues / Re: Mouse moves under application
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:52:31 pm »
Just purchased a new desktop and installed PS and it's working fine. It did the same thing to begin with and then I updated my drivers and it worked fine under Windows. I'm thinking there migh tbe a problem with the Intel graphic drivers under Linux or maybe the card I was using was just not powerful enough to run the game.

I have the same problem as above. On Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala with an Intel Mobile GM965/GL960 card.

I load the game, get into the character creation screen and every race says the model is not available and the mouse disappears (I can see it at the edges so it's just not rendering it in the game window for some reason).

At the load screen (with the picture of the wizards in the library or something) it give these errors

crystalspace.pluginmgr.loadplugin:
could not load plugin 'crystalspace.sndsys.renderer.null'
crystalspace.maploader.parse.image:
could not open image file 'lib/std/shadow_noise.png' on VFS!
crystalspace.syntax.shadervariable:
Texture '/lib/std/shadow_noise.png' not found.
[node: shadervars,shadervar(name=tex shadow noise)]
crystalspace.engine.warning:
default shader /shader/std_lighting.xml not available
default shader /shader/std_lighting_portal.xml not available

Then when the create character screen loads no matter which race I choose it says the model is not loaded and the cursor disappears and nothing else can be done but to close the game.
