so  your compy is pluigged straight into your modem and not into a box that says, dlink, linksys, or belkin?

and server status can be checked here http://laanx.fragnetics.com/

next question off the list any firewalls up and active on the computer?

I guess i got the wrong idea about what a network was  :P yeah i have a router....as for the server status.... is that the stats? If so:

what does the status of the server at laanx.fragnetics.com say?
are you on a network of any kind?
No I'm not on a network, and I'm not quite sure how to check the server status..................

When ever i try to log in to the game, it says next to the server name "failed". I am on windows xp, i can ping laanx.fragnetics.com without losing any packages, and port 7777 does not seem to be blocked by anything.................  :(
