My current system would choke and gurgle under the load, but I am definitely going to try it out once I get that new machine in a few months :}

If your system is close but your video card is not on their approved list you can try out OLDblivion which allows it to run on older cards on low settings.  Still beats up my machine pretty bad, but its playable ;)

Anyway, the game is definately a lot of fun and huge :D.  Nice thing is you can go through the main quest immediately if you want to so it doesn't force people to play for a long time before they are able to do the main quest.

The right part of the banner is just a piece of one of the wallpapers here.  It is easier to see everything as one piece, and all the moss/mold on the walls makes the dripping fit.

There is a more PS-looking theme available now. To change the look of the forum, click on the "Profile" button by the top of the boards, click on "Look and Layout Preferences," then under "Current Theme:" click on the (change) link. It'll be the last one.

Very nice     Thanks for adding that in :)

I personally tend to agree with NASA rather than some guy having visions.  20 times the distance to the moon seems like a fairly good buffer.  Maybe thats just me  ;)

General Discussion / Re: sex and adult content on planeshift.

From that train of thought, every game that imitates real life in any fashion should have an R rating otherwise it is unrealistic?
I really see no issue with the PG rating as is.  I would rather not see characters RPing owning a brothel, harems, playing a prostitute or whatever, and as far as I can tell the dev's position is the same.
Adult content is not required when RPing, and by no means makes things less realistic.  The characters in the game really do not need to speak of these matters even if they occur.  Characters can RP getting married and having kids as much as they want, but they don't need to go into the details on how it happened in order to be realistic.

The Hydlaa Plaza / Re: Are you a musican

I enjoy playing music but have never done so in any official capacity.  I've been playing the Piano for about 15 years (took lessons for 12 years, now I just play and learn things when I have time as a hobby).  Played the trombone for 8 years, back when I was in school (orchestra & jazz bands), and I even tried out the accordion for a couple years.
I really enjoy playing music, but unfortunately I don't have as much time for it as I would like.

No one does.  You have to make the time.

Unfortunately its not that easy.  Most people "don't have time" because they sit their lazy butt in front of a TV for hours at a time.  I'll actually have some time once I start working in a couple days, the 40+ hours a week for work will be a welcome break from the ridiculous schedule I've been pulling at the University.

Edit:  Starting to drift off topic here... Anyways, question for those who have composed music.  Is there a certain process you typically follow to do it (from training in that subject or otherwise) or is more of a sit down at the instrument and just start improvising sort of thing?

Well I think as a general rule anything that inevitably leads to flames is off-topic for the Plaza.  Ie. Religion, sexual preferences, \"my country is better than yours\", etc. types of topics. Basically anything where there is no correct answer but have very polarized views from each side.
That and advertisements, and pretty much whenever a person\'s first & only post is in the Plaza ;).  The rest I think is covered by those who already posted.

That looks pretty cool.  Limiting with only 3 octaves, but still pretty neat nonetheless.

Anyway, I\'ve never really had the patience for composing/transposing music, I just play purely for entertainment.  My brother\'s has a really nice keyboard that apparantly is made to connect to the computer for recording and whatnot.  One of these days I should get off my lazy butt and test it out :D

Not a mathematician either, but I\'m studying Chemical Engineering so I deal with a lot of math... Never ceases to amaze me how they can put integrals & differential equations into nearly every subject I study (exceptions are options and writing courses :P)
Needless to say, I get a lot of surprised looks from my friends whenever I do \"hard\" math in my head :)

All of the Code listed in that wikipedia table are supported in the forums.  However, the easiest way to use the BBCode on this forum is to go into your profile -> Edit options and then put yes for \"Use BBCode quick buttons and smilies?\".
That way you can just click buttons whenever you want to do something like change the font/alignment instead of memorizing what the code is.

is this gonna replace DVD\'s? or is it gonna be like the mini disks and suck? or are we gonna have a new age version of the old VHS againced Beta?

just interested to start a discussion :)

The other format that is being backed is the HD-DVD (Microsoft and Toshiba are backing it I believe).

Anyway, I\'m all for new technology, but this lack of deciding on a new format is really annoying.  Its like the whole DVD+R or DVD-R again just a whole lot worse.

I have a feeling that most people will not convert over from DVDs until there is a clear benefit to doing so (such as HD TVs becoming the standard to make use of the extra storage capacity) and once one of the formats has a significant library of movies/TV shows behind it.
