I'm not sure, if it has been changed by now. The most important cookbook might still be at the end of a long quest chain. So you'll need lots of patience to get there. And if I remember correctly, there are about 5 different quest givers...

I just spent about 2 hours to make 3 chainmail gloves q300 from 54 steel ingots. One pair of gloves sells for 2430 Tria. So I earned around 7200 Tria and in the same time spent around 20k Tria on training BS and AM. I don't even think about how much money I could have made out of the 54 steel ingots, cause it's just too depressing....

Each and every choice of profession should be able to earn yourself a living. If I'm a hunter I don't want to bother with mining and met. Even worse are things with baking and cooking, fishing, harvesting and don't know what else. If you really stick to your RP character, making money is hard unless you're a miner or metallurgist. In a game that puts so much weight and importance on RP, professions are really badly unbalanced.

I can only agree with Bilbous on all he says. I trained LW from 4 to 27 mostly on rat skins. By now I killed quite a few dozen trepor warriors and tefusanglings and got maybe 2-3 skins. Velnishis are way too hard for me and riverlings and trepor queens are still a bit dangerous even though I can kill them.

Another issue is that from a LW point of view all medium skins are the same. Nevertheless if I buy them from other players I pay different prices depending on the creature the skin is from. Why should I buy Velnishi skins if Tefusangling or Trepor Warriors/Queens cost me half the money? And even with the cheapest skins I still can't make a profit from arms armour. (AM level 15)

The idea to combine loot rate of skins with your skill in LW doesn't seem very practicable to me. It means that only LW workers can actually obtain some decent loot rate. But being a LW worker doesn't necessarily mean you have the skills or the interest to hunt your skins yourself. I gladly buy skins from hunters, so it's them that should get the decent loot rates not me.

This would be an interesting option and it would solve the problem of the different prices for different skins, even though from the point of LW, they're all medium skins.

It's not as bad as this.

I know that the Mercantile Way is only about 22 quests long.

And as a genereal direction use the titles of the Ways.

I got Winch Access within about 6 weeks, without knowing what quests were needed.

I fully support all of the problems mentioned above.

What I'd really like to see are different kind of daggers. There are so many different kind of swords that are different in the damage they do. With the daggers you don't have any choice at all.

I never tried to use knives, as they're even worse than daggers.

Well, well, well... another crash or maybe a freeze.

This time I just started the client, logged in and loaded the character. When everything seemed ready to start playing, I just wanted to greet the guild members in the chat. That's about when everything crashed/froze. I had to force quit the computer. The console log doesn't seem unusual up to this part.

Mac OSX Specific Issues / crashes on entering ojaveda

I've been having problems since the last update. About every 2 time I try to enter Ojaveda, I get a crash. Mostly it's not only the client that crashes, but the computer itself along with the client.

Some of my observations:

1. Winch access: 2 of the original 3 ways to get Winch access aren't working due to chaining. --> You need Winch access to get Winch access.  ???

2. Winch access again: The only working way to get access has magic quests in the chain. This means you need the wand of a certain way. Considering the fact that a character should learn only one of the Magic Ways in the future, shouldn't winch access be independent of the Magic Ways? (At least as long as it is the only way to Winch access?)

3. Cooking chain: The first book you get is Baking. The recipes that look like easy and basic recipes all need apples. You can't peel, core or slice apples though until you get "Working in a Kitchen", which is at/or towards the end of the chain. I think basic books should be available pretty easy, so players can try different trades. When they get hooked, they're willing to put in a lot of effort to get the more advanced books. So please think about a new order in that chain or revise the content of the books.

Winch access seems to have some issues with the recently added quest chaining. Apparently there used to be 3 quest lines to get winch access. And apparently 2 of them now need winch access to be solved...

I don't have a solution. I can only confirm that the graphic card is not the problem. I'm on the infamous Intel GMA 950 (on a Mac) and everything is perfectly alright with standard settings.

Hmm, are you sure, you're problems are graphic based?

I keep being told that I for sure have a crappy graphic card and it's a wonder the game is running at all. On top of that I'm on a mac. The game is running pretty fine without me having changed anything in the settings. The only change I did, was turning the weather of, as I was really annoyed of getting lost in the fog.  ;) And I did have some minor lags in bad weather. That's all.
