Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Finished Tutorial, Game crashing now

I finished the tutorial and selected Thanks, then the game locked up and crashed. After getting back in and selecting my character, the game sits on the loading screen and eventually crashes to my desktop. I have the following lines in errorlog.txt
Planeshift version is 0.5.8.1
OS is Ubuntu 11.10 x86
Computer is a Dell Latitude D830
