I did the foil arch behind the gateway thing but it's not really doing much. I think I have too many walls. I'm trying to figure out it any repeaters don't cut the bandwidth in half. I wasn't sure if it was just one antenna ones or if they all do it or if any odd variation of them wouldn't do it.

This seems like a friendly place so I thought I would ask.

I'm trying to fix my wireless problems. I am to far away from my base. Does anyone know about things like repeaters/extenders to know how to pick one properly? I have a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166073 connecting to a moxi gateway from cable company. I'm trying to figure out how to get a repeater that doesn't cut the bandwidth in half. Is there any way to do it.

Linux Specific Issues / Newbie install help ubuntu 12.04

I'm very new and I've been looking this up but can't find one I understand or don't get an error from I can figure out.

I run the installer (PlaneShift-v0.5.9.1-x64.run) by double clicking it. It brings up the window language etc. When it tries to install but I get the /opt folder is not writable by the current user. I can't figure out how to run it in prompt... I ran it with sh but it didn't work. I think I typed it wrong or something.

sudo sh PlaneShift-v.... (full name not shorted)
I get "1: PlaneShift-v...: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string

Any idea how I fix either of these? I've never really used sh and I'm a bit confused. Could use some help. Thanks.

Is this even the right way to install it?
