no not at all. it\'s just that if you were on 98, you wouldn\'t need worry about the compatibility issue. have you managed to change the compatibility though?

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Input Buffer Full
« on: July 04, 2003, 03:00:57 am »
Under linux in my terminal i get the message: ***  Input Buffer Full! Dropping Packet of Type ##!

the numbers vary, but 13 is the most occurance.

it does this when the game kinda freezes. i have a cpu usage graph in my taskbar, and when the game is running it\'s at 90-100% most of the time, which is normal, but all of a sudden the game will get real slow, sometimes to a stand still and my cpu usage goes down to nothing, and this is when i get these buffer errors.

is your OS even recognizing it as a batch file?
are they all in the same directory?
try redownloading just the batch file. then if that fails try d/ling the other 1 at a time using process of elimination. i myself had no trouble using it so i know the files are in good working order.

The tabs were General, Options, Font, Layout, Colors, and Security.  General doesn\'t allow me to do anything but change the name, archive and index attributes, and compress and encrypt. Options only includes cursor size, edit options(insert and quickedit mode), display options, and command history. I can\'t find anything about compatibility. Am I looking in the wrong place?

what OS are you on? XP?

they both apear to be correct. do these paths need to be inputted into a file within the planeshift directory?

these are the locations after following your instructions on the other webpage line for line

crystal=/home/??my?name?here??/molblue/CS
cel=/home/??my?name?here??/molblue/cel/

edit:  i have succesfully got it working in linux. thx for the help. BTW at least for me it seems to run much better on linux than windows XP.

i\'m in the middle of  building planeshift from  the instruction link you have mentioned. i got crystal space, built cel and went to build planeshift. on the ./config --disable-jamtest line i got this message at the end:

Note that the Crystal Space directory is detect by looking at the CRYSTAL
environment variable. Make sure this variable is set correctly.
no
*** Could not run Crystal Space test program, checking why...
configure: error:
*** Crystal Space couldn\'t be found. The latest version is always avaiable
*** from http://crystal.linuxgames.com.
***
*** be also sure that you\'ve either installed CS or set the CRYSTAL var right.
*** You also have to compile the cs-config script in CS. Do this with the
*** following command in your CS dir:
***     make csconf

i had no problems up to this point. and sorry, but i\'m a complete newb to linux so if this is like a completely easy mistake i apologize in advance.

right click my computer and go to properties then hardware or device manager and then look under  display adapters. that is if you\'re on windows.
