I like the idea of stalls.  Builders get XP for puting them up, and manufactuers can sell their goods (Maybe add in a bartering system, do raise or lower prices).  And how to prevent crowding?  Simply limit the number of shacks.

Say you buy a shack, but don\'t like it for some reason; then the builders can come in, destroy it, and build you a new one, earning XP for it.

Abemore, that sounds like an incredibly interesting idea.  A bounty system would be a nice touch too.  I don\'t know about Permanent death, I\'d like some form of reincarnation (even if they knock you down a bunch of levels and you loose alkot of skills), maybe get to reincarnate once, and the second time you get killed it\'s all over.

Here\'s a thought; why not have buildings get constructed faster with more builders.  A single builder gets started on a house, it\'ll take, say a week, 14 builders get started on a house, they\'ll finish it in half a day.

Hey, Marbles!  That was a good idea, Drilixer!  It would actually be amusing to see a few Krans doing that.  As for the marraige thing, how about we just RP that, and avoid giving it in game benefits?  And what\'s wrong with a few side games?  People get sick of fighting all the time, and a distraction is welcome on occasion.

Here\'s a thought, why not have an alchemenical type of skill that could partially fall under cooking?  I.E. cooks can prepare meals that just heal you, but an alchemist would make food/potions that would have special magical properties (levitating, healing, invisibility, things like that).

I remember once I was talking to the NPC you probably got the quest from...

I was bored, and ended up wasting 3 hours trying to get the quest, but to no avail.  For all I know, I was off by one word, but you get the jist of it; the current dialouge is horrible.

For a good example of FPS RPGing done right, look at Morrowind.  The game did it well, without detracting from game play or the RPG element.  There are, of course, hundereds of examples of RPG in which everything is \"Automatic\", however, I pefer the idea of Baldur\'s Gate: Combat and dodging are automatic, but you could run away and cast spells at your liesure (for the most part).  Either way is effective, and I think either one would serve Plane Shift well, if done correctly, as Drilixer said

Name: Brinnstein

Population: Human, Dwarven.

Services: Weaponsmiths, Armor Smiths, brewerys (Yes, that\'s right, plural), and maybe a farm or two.

Archetecture: I\'m thinking south German, namely Bavarian, with assorted cave dwwellings (From failed mining operations, not the best place to live, but why let a perfectly good hole go to waste?  Not sure about dwarven archetecture as it exists in this game, but throw some of that in too.

This town is primarily a mining operation, and would allow players to harvest metal, buy metal based armor/weapons, or, holding with the German theme, get a ton of Beer.  It\'s a \"Filler\" town; not really special, maybe even forgettable, but perhaps the location for some major event in the future?  Like on of those incidents where the miners accidentally reach some kind of anchinet evil, and everything goes to pot, or something to that effect.  Just a thought!

They did a color coding system in AC 2, and even thouhg the world was under populated, it still proved incredibly useful, had it all been one color, I would\'ve been constantly scroling to read what I missed, and probably miss more in doing that.  I think it\'s an excvellent idea.

I\'d like to see the game eventually allow you to leave the giant underground cave thing, and explore the world above; It would be very interesting, and alot bigger (that\'s why I like it).

Well, see, there ya go!  Stick the water walking/breathing spells under blue, the levitation spell under azure, etc.  I think it would be very workable.

Here\'s a thought... why not put the spells into different \"schools\", so that a person couldn\'t just pick this school of alteration spells; They\'d have to limit themselves.  And say I was to create an explorer charachter, but wanted to have combat and armor skills as well as magic; I would take lock picking, an armor and a weapon; then I\'d find myself faced with the problem of what magic area to pick.  One that would allow me to levitate?  One that would let me breathe under water?  These types of choices would initially limit the abilities of the user, but eventually, they would be able to use all of them.  Instead of being competition for an exlorer, they would serve to assisst them.

Rheingold, Sprechen sie deutsch?

Here\'s a thought... why not have a magic lamp floating around somewhere, but you only get one wish, and you may not get what you want.  Like it variable.  Say it\'s a menu, and you wish for armor, and you expect this suit of incredibly well made armor, but instead you get a wooden helmet.  That kinda thing.
