Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Why is it that the service is so slow for me?

I haven\'t been playing for very long, yet I\'ve been having a most difficult time getting around in PlaneShift, Molecular Blue. Logging on and loading \"world\" etc. also takes well over 2-3 minutes. Is there something at my end that I can do about this?
