I seem to be having the same problem.  I believe pretty much everyone (with the exception of a lucky few) experiences the rising amount of RAM usage...  It\'s just something that you\'ll have to either ignore during this stage of development until its fixed, or you can go ahead and try to fix it yourself ;) (If you succeed, let us all know of course :P).  You can do what I do though, if it lets you in game you just talk to everyone that\'s on using /shout, and you surf the forums daily in search of someone posting a new fix for the lag ;)

Yeah, when I start PS it\'s at about 100 megs usage at the title screen... Then it climbs and doesn\'t stop until around 300mb usage.  Uses a good 70% or more of my CPU, too.

The newspaper sounds like an excellent idea to me. I\'m new to Planeshift, but I plan to play often, and if there\'s any room in the team (if the idea is accepted) I\'d be willing to be part of it ^_^

Well, I really haven\'t gone outside of the starting area.  The first direction I successfully went in, I ended up at a closed gate with a small tower thing.  When I was facing the wooden gate, I could turn left and right with very little lag, but as soon as I started to see anything other than the gate, being mainly open space, it would just lock up (not completely, just temporarily).  I suppose that would go under the third category.

How long have you waited? My computer takes nearly 3 minutes each time to load everything, so just make sure you keep waiting for a little while. Appearantly the first load can take up to two hours on some systems.

I think we (by we, I mean the dev team, of course) should develop that kind of function. It\'d be nice if you could walk up to a bench or whatever, type /sit, and you sit down on the bench.  I played Ragnarok Online for a little while, when it was free beta or whatever, and there was a sit command, which was cool because it was different sitting for each class, but it\'d be nice if we could expand upon that.  I dunno, I suppose I\'m just rambling on.

Yeah, after posting I read up a little more and found another thread about lag problems.

Do you think it would run better on RedHat 9?  I already have my system set up to dual-boot, but I\'m not restarting unless it\'s actually going to help any ;)  Any suggestions on times that it isn\'t so laggy?  Is it caused by a lot of users? Or just random times?

Well, here\'s the required information first:

Time of test: Latest was 12:11AM PST, 7/25
OS: Windows XP Pro
Processor: AMD Duron 1.2GHz
RAM: 512MB PC-3200
Video Card: Gainward Gf4 Ti4200 8x
Video Card Memory: 128
PS Client Version: Whatever the latest is using updater
OpenGL or Safe Mode: OpenGL
Description of the bug: See below

I\'m experiencing some horrible graphical lag.  I\'ve seen a few posts about it, and I went through the lag fix posted by c0deX.  This didn\'t seem to help any noticable amount.  The lag is so bad that when I press the arrow keys to turn left and right, it\'s nearly a minute before it actually changes the view.  Is this a problem anyone else is experiencing/has experienced?  Thanks in advance.

Nope. I got on like 10 minutes ago, but then I had to restart because of other programs, and when I came back I couldn\'t get on.
