Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / a black screen- software and opengl...

i ran the game today after isntalling and rebooting.

i have a dual 3ghz p4 with 1gb ram an nVidia geforce4 mx 440 with the latest drivers...and i cant run it. i dont know why i can only run it in safe mode- even if i switch to software mode in the setup, it doesnt work. any ideas? pelase?it seems fun and  id love to play it
