if ps.gamiix.com didnt work then its something to do with your name server.. probably cached something wrong even though ps.gamiix.com has only ever pointed to 203.30.19.55

but either should work

yes you need to recreate a new account
the old accounts where not transfered over.

please use ps.gamiix.com as the server address.
or if you want to use the ip use 203.30.19.55

Changes again:

203.30.19.53 is what you should use for now until Matze is ready with setting up the new server

Once thats ready then you can switch to using ps.gamiix.com or planeshift.gamiix.com

Just to let you know that today the IP addresses on server will change from 203.109.172.22 to 203.30.19.53 or you can use gamiix.com still which ill redirect to the new ip addresses i have been assigned by my backbone.

Please Note: I will create ps.gamiix.com as a new entry so if you stick to using this then you wont have any problems with changing IPs all the time since PS will change its IP once more after this when it goes to its dedicated server.

ok try this
uninstall PS
restart PC
install PS (make sure its lastest release)
change the ps client to run in win98 (compatibilty mode in winxp)
restart the machine
if you have already created a account just try login with that account. if you find that this does this same thing try creating a new account.

exit the game and try it again..

ive only been testing it on my work pc so i dont have a opengl supported video card so im using software mode.

if you click the upload button and it does nothing just exit and open the game again.

when its doing something you can tell by the blinking | will stop blinking. and in a few seconds it should change screen (give it about 15secs)

Arzosah if u tell me what video card you have then i can tell you if it supports opengl..

you can find out your video card by going into display properties and then clicking on settings.

you probably just need a driver update.

make sure you download the xp drivers for your video card. by default xp will use the default driver it has for the video card but you wont be able to use opengl.

you need to install the drivers for your video card from the manufacture so opengl will work.

if its using a nvidia chipset get the drivers from http://www.nvidia.com

and dont use millenium drivers.. ME is the most shitest OS release by MS. ive had so many problems with that OS its not funny..
