Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game /

Thank you, Mogura, for the quick reply.

Yes, I tried extensively to locate posts that might include the same sort of problem, but with no helpful results.

I understand that a specific minimum system requierment is not all that well layed out yet. Might it just be missing something, e.g. latest OpenGL drivers or perhaps even a specific Service Pack?

The following is a widely seen message shown in the client startup DOS Prompt:

no CEL environment variable set!
Warning: Failed to load `csddsimg\'; use \'-verbose\'
Warning: Failed to load `csjngimg\'; use \'-verbose\' argument for details.
Warning: Failed to load `cssgiimg\'; use \'-verbose\' argument for details.

Hello,

I am unable to get PlaneShift running, because for some reason it completely denies to go past the intro splash screen. Instead it jams and goes into \"Not responding\" mode and requers TaskManager to kill the disfunctional program.

I have WindowsNT 4.0
Intel Pentium IV, 500mhz with 128MB RAM.

My collegues are having similar troubles with slight variations, e.g. sound is played but the client does not go past the intro screen. We all downloaded the helpful files manually and also with the help of thee AutoUpdater.

I did not notice other users having problems involving WinNT, so hopeful the good fortune is this being a rare occasion or one with a simple solution. My computer specs might not be as high as modern standards see it, but I was under the knowledge that they are still sufficient to run PlaneShift atleast on a lower level of performance. Also, I am near to the time where I wish to replace my original Operaton System with Win2000 or best with WinXP, since the years have showed me good ol\' reliable WinNT is not standard for a person who wishes to use higher-demanding programs, which include many of the popular graphics tools and accesories.

Thank You for hearing me out and all help regarding my technical problem is most thankful.
