Meh. I had to read ten or so randomly picked topics after searching for Alchemy. There oughta be one on-topic thread for it. ;)

But that thread is under the title of \"chemical potions/bombs for alchemists.\"
Surely it isn\'t his fault for assuming the thread didn\'t go off-topic and talk about FMA is it?

But what if they learn to turn some sand into a large spear? Then the economy would be flooded with sand spears :P

Though stepping into \"God\'s territory\" and making some mutant chimeras would be pretty cool

With CB pulling closer, the RP side of things has heated up in anticipation for the release I imagine. People are hammering things out for their characters to be ready for CB. Shouting shouldn\'t be a chatroom unto itself. If you want to hold a conversation, hold one where not everyone has to hear you. Maybe a single shout such as \"meet at the temple for a chat\" but /shout conversations I believe are an abuse of the system. Seytra has summed up everything and I agree 100%. Just because /you/ believe it\'s a public chatroom, doesn\'t mean everyone else does.

Not every character will be oriented towards battle. This makes it entirely unfair to someone RPing as a merchant. If you need a game where you run around slaughtering people, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Restrictions on pick poketing, is this a joke?! Well, I do hope it is, cuz it is plain absurd to not be able to pick poket everywhere, exept the Newb Place.

Uhh, maybe because everybody and their dog would be a thief and not work for any items/money lest it be stolen? Some people would like to RP and quest without looking behind their backs to see if someone is trying to pick pocket their latest asset.

The thing of it is, why /shouldn\'t/ a character with more time put into it be better than one with less time? And some stuff makes no sense to have disadvantages. Why would wearing a better, lighter armor of a stronger metal have any sort of disadvantage? Or a staff that makes your spells more efficient? That /is/ the whole point of putting any time into a characters skills or items, isn\'t it?

Paladin:

Skilled in heavy armors as well as shield usage. Weapon choice depends on player. Other areas of interest are Endurance and Body Development. Player may also choose to have some skill in magic/healing.

Adeli makes the exact point I\'ve been trying to make. If camping spawns for items to sell is harvesting, then by all means I\'m the worst of them all. Whenever anyone needed something in FFXI, they went out and killed the strongest monster they could solo continuously to collect on drops. Unless PS offers all items through easily completable quests, I can\'t see why many people won\'t turn to harvest some monsters for a limited amount of time to afford new gear.

Instancing quests and randomising quests were others. After all, PS tries to be different, and a big part of this is to actually give back a meaning to the \"RP\" in MMORPG. Of course there will be some ways to increase skills, but they\'ll hopefully differ from the endless \"kill this, kill it again, kill some more\" scheme that dominates the MMORPG world ATM.

And that\'s great, but without some sort of importance on skill, to me atleast, there\'s less to do. I enjoy killing monsters and skill-ups, and grinding can even be fun at some point. Looking back and seeing how much stronger your character is because of the work you put into it is rewarding. A change is nice, but I like to see some importance put onto killing creatures/team work. Besides, who wants to take a knight with low sword skills to a battle with a dragon? Skill-ups are necessary to stay current. That\'s my opinion atleast.

My biggest problem would be with solutions that hurt the community. Limiting spawn points hurts everybody. When I\'m looking to skill-up, I don\'t want to have to compete with not just harvesters, but every other player trying to skill up a weapon. Another problem with limiting money/items is that some players farm mobs for the game. When I want to buy a new sword, I don\'t go skill-up and hope to god something drops. I go out and fight monsters I know drop money/items of worth so I can sell. We have to keep these things in mind when we decide on courses of action. Nothing beats GMs and Players who pay attention and care about the game.

We don\'t necessarily have to root evil out, just protect the world from it. i.e. Foiling your plans, not so much killing you.

Another question and forgive me if I missed it:

How will hate work? I\'ve come from FFXI so I\'m used to party play with monsters exacting a certain preference over combatants. Will the monster lock on one character and continue attacking until either are dead regardless of another ranged character doing more damage or healing character healing alot? Will there be skills to keep \"hate\" or the monsters attention?

Maybe I missed this but I did a search and didn\'t see anything regarding parties. Will all combat and training be player vs. monster with no parties, will there be the option of levelling in a party? I realize it isn\'t really \"levelling\" but still, grouping together to kill monsters to train skills etc.
