Now I can understand you all beeing angry, but please people let\'s try to keep calm. The guy made a mistake. He found this site he liked and copied it. Bad move. If he doesn\'t change it, legal action will be taken. Let the game developers deal with this one please. All of us screaming for retaliation won\'t help matters at all.

Most likely this guy will simply redo his website, problem solved. Stop harassing him, even though he might deserve it.

It\'s great to see that some won\'t do piracy. GIMP is great, the new GIMP2 is very, very good and can do most of the things photoshop can do. But GIMP2 isn\'t a free photoshop, its a different program and as such you have to learn to use gimp just as you would have to learn photoshop. There are some good books out there, most are outdated, but still fairly good. The best I\'ve read is \"Grokking the gimp\" which is freely avalable here: http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/

GIMP is one good example of how open source software can replace expensive commercial software, go team!

Your work is amazing, it really is. I love your work and find myself just looking at it several times a day. If I could make one humble suggestion: Please, please consider making a wallpaper sized picture! Having one of your monsters as my wallpaper would really make my days brighter.

I know I\'m fighting a loosing battle here, but please, for the love of all that is holy, stop using the expression \"n00b\" in all its variations and stop right now, thank you very much.

The word is novice, newcomer or newbie. Since we are a role-playing community I find novice to be the most fitting.

Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game /

First lets define pornography:

from wikipedia.org: Pornography is the representation of the human body or human sexual behaviour with the goal of sexual arousal.

From allwords.com: books, pictures, films, etc designed to be sexually arousing, often offensive owing to their explicit nature. Often shortened to porn or porno

From barnaby.com: Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal

I can\'t see how in the name of all that is holy you can think that this splashscreen is \"pornographic\". Come on, don\'t tell me the planeshift splashscreens \"primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal\".

If you find the splashscreen offensive, and give some reasons why it is so,  I\'m sure the developers will listen to you. But pornographic it is not.

Can we please eliminate the evil word \"noob\" in all its ways of spelling right now. If I see that word in game I\'ll stop playing. The word we should use is novice, if thats to hard for you, use newcomer or if you really have to sound like a 13 year old girl on msn, newbie.

If I sound like another spelling-nazi, I\'m not, I\'m just a guy who prefer actual words.

Beeing open-source involves more than just sharing the sourcecode, there are other major things involved. Read open-source defintion people, its a revelation. http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition.php

And for all of you who don\'t know about open-source, get to know it. There are open-source alternatives to almost every program most people use every day. Examples of amazing open-source projects for the average (windows using) Joe are:
The mozilla browser project
The OpenOffice.org office suite
The Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP)
The Gaim multi-protocol instant messaging client

Using open-source software on your desktop is wonderful, you can contact the actual developers, or other nice and competent people if you have issues. You have great communties around each project, like the wonderful planeshift community, and the software mostly rock!

Sorry for the off-topic ramblings.

Wish list / The forest city of D?nyulma
« on: August 06, 2003, 12:24:03 am »
D?nyulma is a city in the large trees of where all houses are created high up in the air. All buildings buildt with no nails or anything else hurting the large trees. The houses are small, usually only one room, the larger houses have 2 or even 3 rooms. Because of the large trees from 3 to 15 small houses may be placed arround the trunk of one three.

The houses are connected with narrow bridges and simple but clever elevators. The forests around D?nyulma is a very rainy area. The clever builders of D?nyulma created an amazing system that collects the rain into wodden tubes that goes verticaly down beside the large trunks. The elevators are partly powered by rather small watermills running in this small tubed waterfalls. During the rainyer times, extra water is stored in large containers placed high up in the tree tops.

The grandest part of D?nyulma is the main square, a large platform around the trunk one of the largest, oldest three know to man. About the size of the main square in Yliakum the main square is the meeting place of the city. At the square there is a great fountain, created by precisely placed holes in the tubes containg the rainwater. Above and arround the main square, connected by bridges are most of the city\'s shops.

The people of D?nyulma mosty eat roots and plants that grow in the dark but fertile area at the foot of the trees. If you ever find yourself in the city in the trees, don\'t miss the rhuga bread, the main ingredience is the flour made from rhuga roots.

Keeping livestock in the three village is hard to say the least, and on the ground vile beast roam, especially at night. Almost all meat that is consumed in D?nyulma are from the animals the hunters gather.
D?nyulma is the home of some of the most skilled hunters and archers in general. Archers from D?nyulma are in service in many cities and serve as assasins for some of the wealthiest guilds.

Hunting in the forest is a dangerous profession, the beast that made the ancient people of D?nyulma move up into the threes still lurk the dark forest and more than once children have dissapeared. Guards make sure no one stay at the forest floor after dark. To do so would be to welcome death. During the day certain places may be accessed to gather berries, mushrooms and most importantly, ruhga. But even during the day, the forest floor is a dangerous place.

The city of D?nyulma is not the home of a vast number of people, but those who live there enjoy their life there. The city is one of the oldest, and it have never been breached by any opposing force.

I know this is not very realistic, but its something I would really like to see in the game later on.

Not a city, more a monument, but I\'ll give it anyway.

I would like to see lots of grand statues, of gods, legendary warriors, mages, healers, kings and so on in our world. My (almost wet) dream is a statue carved out of a large cliff. Its kind of hard to explain, and even harder in english. But I\'ll try anyway. Imagine a large cliff, like the Cliffs of moher in Ireland, picture . Or Preikestolen in norway, picture
With a very large statue of some ancient person of greatness. I image a really large torso kind of coming out of the cliff. Holding something in both arms. Like a large Battleaxe if its a legendary warrior or a staff if its a mage.  Again, maybe I have explained it poorly, if I could draw I would try to draw it for you.

Wish list / MB addons
« on: March 21, 2003, 10:43:27 am »
The small things are important, after playing MB these are my suggestions for small addons:

Scrollbar in the chat window.
Private chat (in another window maybe ?)
Sitting down at the tables in the tavern
Longer lasting rain, and not so often

I know most of this has already been thought of, but I say it again anyway.
