I think and really hope that many of you have read Terry Prattchets \'Discworld\'. And if you did that for some time you will surely know about Aknh Morpork and its Guild system.

I\'ve already referd to that system in this thread:
http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=5634&boardid=21&styleid=3&sid=6c1780f0c6883af6602c1aa2f5fd6c98&page=2

I mentioned the Thieves Guild where one could get in by paying a monthly fee, which could lower the chance of too many people becoming thieves. You could rank up by doing certain quest or do some great jobs.

This idea could easily be used for most other Jobs avaiable in PS. I.e. there could be assasin guild which only allows really rich PCs to get in. This Guild would be paid by players to have another player killed and a special item stolen. Of course the amount of money needed to pay an assasin would be way too high for most players. But to stop the guild from dying there could also be npcs who give quests to kill a certain other npc.

These guilds would have a certain ranking system. And special guilds like the Assassins could have a member restriction.
The highest rank would be an Elder or however you want to call it. There can only be 6(or another number) of them who would be in a council which decides about serius matters of the guild such as new members and the use of the monthly fee. Furthermore every Guild has to vote one representative for the City council, which is under the lead of a GM or some other very trustfull person.

This way you could easily restrict people from doing something in the city without permission of the guild they should belong to:
A new smith comes into the city and wants to build up an own store. Now he has 2 options:
1)He goes to the craftsman/smith guild and asks if he can join it and gets advice on where to build his store.
2)He just starts a new shop right next to an old one, the guild gets to know that and the store is robbed or something like that.

In the beginning there wouldnt be any \"Elders\" so that cities and economy can grow until the Guild Councils and the City Council are complete. This would Furthermore give the Guilds a quite nice starting capital!

But the Guild members have to have benefits for being what they are. These benefits could be:
- help when being shoplifted
- guard of thieves and other dangers
and whatever else you can imagine.

By having those guilds the Question of \"Guild wars\" for a city would also be solved.

BUT the PC foundable Guilds should still exist as a group of people who have the same interest.

Well thats my idea of how economy and crime could be handled

Ive read through most of this posts and saw the general problem of ppl having many different accounts. But what would be if u couldnt exchange things from one char to another. If there would only be one IP allowed per user than noone could trade his stolen/gained through pk goods. This way a player simply couldnt benefit of his temp char and one of the main problems woulda been solved.
Only people who can have more than one Ip or play with a friend could do such things. Furthermore I would  delete every item dropped in the world by a specific player as soon as he disconnects.

Imo looting dead bodies isnt too bad, but there should be a timed restriction in which only the char(and maybe his party) who died can see his items/the whole body. This restriction could be set to 10 minutes, so if u r not into deep in a dungeon ur stuff wont be looted, and if you should be that deep in a dungeon ur char is surely pretty strong and there arent as many people running around in that part of the dungeon!

I really appreciate the idea of a thief guild. You could even steal some ideas from Terry Prattchets Discworld where thiefs have to pay a certain amount of money to their guild to be allowed to steel stuff. Furthermore they are only allowed to steal like 10 things or something in a months. This could be done with a credit system. You have 10 credits in a month when u begin and get a bit more when ur status in the guild has arosen. Different Items are worth a different amount of Credits, if u steal too much you get punished by degrading of ur status, loosing a whole bunch of money and having to give back the stolen stuff.

But this way there would be quite many thiefs, this could be changed by increasing the monthly(whatever) fee that is needed to be in the guild, this way only already richer players could get into it and the thief guild would be kinda \"noble\".

If you dont pay ur monthly fee you get thrown out of the guild and if the guild gets to know that someone without the guild license steals, the person will be punished in some evil way that is...well whatever cant think anymore way too late T.T.

If I wrote something that was already mentioned sorry if not, im pretty lucky huh?

I think that the current walking speed is kinda slow! maybe there should be three different walkspeeds, walking, running and sprinting.
Walking doesnt use any Stamina indeed you could regain some Stamina while Walking.
Running does use a minimum of stamina and is the normal speed(maybe a bit slower than current running).
Sprinting uses a high amount of stamina but is depending on Agility and Stuff 125% of the current running speed.

Furthermore there should be a toggling of speeds not like the current run-toggle, but more like toggling between the speeds without having to run forward all the time. This way no keys(like shift atm) would be harmed and u could easily decide how to walk around.

As someone already mentioned there should be a npc in every bigger city where u can find those PC Quests, how about calling him PCQG, PlayerCharacter Quest Generator Dude Guy whatever.
Don\'t know much bout the making of Menues and stuff but it\'d surely be pretty cool if u had two options when talking to him:

I Want to make a Quest:
All those lovely Ideas u wrote already and maybe that menue of Harwen

What Quests are there:
A Menue where u can see the quests on the left and when u click on one of them u see all the info on the right, including persons participating and the time they r working on it so far.

This would lower the chance of someone starting the Quest without realising that it is just about to be ended. Furthermore the usability would be way easier and even the worst beginner might get the quest he likes.

Furthermore there could be some sort of QuestSearch. Examples: Person1 searches a quest which needs wood, and finds 2 of those one in CityA and one in CityB. For he is Closer to CityA and the reward is better he walks to CityA and starts the Quest.
Person2 wants to get a certain reward, so he searches for it and there is one that has exactly the reward he wants. So he wanders to the city starts the Quest and maybe even gets the reward.

I don\'t know much bout coding and stuff but though that\'d be a hell lot of things to do I guess me and everyone else posting in this threat would greatly appreciate this to be implemented.
