I know I\'m right. But as I said, I know I\'m not getting anywhere with this. I\'m not trying to argue. I made my points, defended points, and realized that I wasn\'t getting anything done. Besides, as Kiern said, we know very little about this organization and exactly what it\'ll do. You know the basics of why I oppose this; anything else will have to wait.

I\'m OK. I\'ve had a lot of real-life business lately, but that\'s (hopefully) going to be over in a week or so.

No, because I\'m right. But I see I\'m not really getting anywhere with this; if you all like the idea, go with it. I just thought I\'d let you know how I feel.

No, I\'m not saying the Council\'s going to punish smaller guilds. I\'m saying it will very likely punish alrger ones. I forsee a future of ill-informed, knee-jerk reactions to the smallest, stupid issues, because that\'s what always happens in Planeshift.

I\'m confident that guilds can solve their own problems without the help of an organization.

Also if you dont want order or harmony then you really shouldnt be making comments about what should be done and how things should be implemented. Its very shallow to want just what you want out of the scope of things. And future guilds and players will not be able to progress in their understanding and enjoyment of PS!!

Could you explain what this is supposed to mean? It really doesn\'t seem to carry any sort of point.

I don\'t want order, I don\'t want equal representation, and I don\'t want harmony. I like it when guilds argue with each other. I like that more powerful guilds can (or will be able to) push around smaller ones. Besides, as I said, it will simply become a nuscience to the guilds it bosses around. Any \"order\" is a system of control. Ever heard of tyranny of the majority? There\'s a perfect example here in America not a month ago. :(

Wow. I pop in my inactive head, and here people are, talking about the exact same things. Alignment, guild governments, the Cabal, you never get bored of discussing them?

Sorry, Annah my man, but personally, I\'m against guild councils, governments, etc. Firstly, there will already be a player-run government. Second, most of what it would serve to prohibit is already impossible. Third, it will probably spend most of its time pointlessly prohibiting things and restricting freedom. Planeshift players have proved time and again that they react way too strongly to small things.

Right now, mostly the Dandy Warhols, and... actually, I\'m just listening to the Dandy Warhols a lot.

Us Planeshifters have known about this for a long time. It\'s called \"seperot theory\". Without it, nobody would be able to understand his posts.

There are a lot of areas in between Good and Evil in the role playing environment but people seem to play the Chaotic Neutral role a lot. This one gives you a chance to do whatever you want. I don?t personally like any of the Neutral alignments, I think they are a cop out, but hey to each his own.
I have to disagree here. People in real life don\'t always follow a specific alignment, and neither do people in a fantasy world. You don\'t have to stick with good/evil constantly. Let\'s say there\'s this guy. He\'s a good guy, helps old ladies cross the street, gives money to charity, and one day, he steals a lollipop.

Or just look at any Mafia movie you\'ve ever seen. The wiseguys will help out a friend, even if they do kill and steal. Good and evil people are still people. Doing something not specific to the alignment you\'ve chosen for yourself is not a breach in role-playing.

Yes, most games are marketed towards male gamers. That doesn\'t mean females can\'t enjoy them. Look at planeshift and it\'s trademark loading screens (a tradition broken with Crystal Blue :()

And I\'m sorry that so many gamers are assholes, but that\'s why they play games; they\'re jerks with no friends. Personally, I don\'t pay attention to the gender of a player, especially because I know that you can\'t exactly trust what they say.

Yes, I think that\'s the distinction. Just like there\'s metal and shitty nu metal, there\'s rap and shitty \"gangsta\" rap.

Depthblade, I respect your musical tastes. OK, I don\'t, but I respect their right to exist. And Draklar\'s right about the metal. Rhapsody is metal for smelly D&Der\'s. Draklar, being a smelly D&Der, enjoys it. If you aren\'t a smelly D&Der, there\'s good reason that you wouldn\'t like it. ;) All metal is a bit \"cultish\", though. Just in different ways.

Linkin Park rox mmmmk, their lyrics do make sense Joey you actually have to give them a chance and listen to them instead of just conforming with some of these other peoples thoughts on the band. When probally most of these people have only listened to one song or none at all and made a judgement upon it.

Metal is alright, I listened to two songs kinda cultish but alright it was cool, but surely it wasn\'t anything worth buying maybe just ripping.

I know their lyrics make sense, I\'ve heard them. I was talking about Dio, sorry if that wasn\'t clear. I never insult a band without listening to them first. I have many songs by terrible bands such as Blink 182 and Linkin Park. I check out bands before insulting them.

As for your second point, what is worth downloading? Besides a Dandy Warhols album, I\'ve only bought music that I couldn\'t download anywhere (Mis-Load, Run Lola Run soundtrack[<--buying this soon]).

How clever and original (<--sarcasm).

It seriously saddens me the way rap has degraded to crap like you hear now. I never liked the genre, but it used to be somewhat respectable. Now it\'s a steaming pile of crap, but know that not all rap is like that.

O and Dio pwns a lot of bands too :)

I always preferred songs who\'s lyrics make some sort of sense, but yeah, Dio\'s OK.

I mean seriously, what the hell? I want to be able to listen, not have to interpret. I know that most Dio songs have some sort of meaning, but I have no idea what the hell it is.

Anyway, Draklar, I think you might like some of Dio\'s stuff. Start by downloading Rainbow\'s Stargazer, see if you like it.

Linkin Park and crap like that (emphasis on the word \"crap\").

Draklar, you should listen to some of the original cheese metal (yeah, that\'s what I call it :P), like Rainbow\'s Stargazer and the like. I\'m pretty sure older songs like that were some sort of inspiration to the bands you listen to. Compare Rainbow Rising or Dio\'s Holy Diver album covers to the Rhapsody album covers, you\'ll see what I mean.
