Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game /

hi when i try to run the .bat file from after downloading the other 5 game files, ms-dos closes straight away making it unable to do a install

im running windows xp prof and any advice how i can get the game working would be greatly thankful

When i open run_first_time.bat it closes straight away so i have no-way of doing anything but im running windows xp prof any ideas ?
