Newbie Help (Start Here) / Link Dead!?

I know I may be annoying many people, however I really want to get this problem fixed.  I deleted my character and created a new one.  The problem is that after I am done, it says I am Link Dead!  What is this and how do I fix it, please someone help me.

I created my character, got password and all that.  But then, I go to connect and it says that \"there is problem with the account database please refer to the forums\".  So, I am here at the forums and am asking, what should I do?

It says on the website that combat was to be released at the end of 2003.  Has this happened?  I am currently downloading game right now.
