Lol :D

My first crack at building (about 3.6 i think) went really well, except my vfs config was screwed and I couldnt see Laanx in my servers list.

Now Im totally stuck - my crystal enviroment variable just wont stay put long enough for me to build anything from Cel onwards...

...still trooping though

Fair play ChaOs - your updater is sweet though.

Ive tried using the official one against yours (albeit when I built my own compile of PS) and yours updated in roughly the same amount of time (perhaps a little faster).

I do think the interface is better with yours, but I suppose they wanna keep everything as uniform as possible.

Ah well - keep up the good work.
Hmmm, a little off topic - but would you mind having a look at the end of the building ps on mac thread for me? I cant work out what im doing wrong :(

....just had a thought.
most apps in os x will only occupy full screen if the dock is hidden - either that or there is code embedded to hide the dock on launch.

Could it be that?

That was probably just the site down for maintenance.
One thing you might want to consider if you have problems like this in the future is resetting the cache on your web browser.

Ah well here\'s the link - but It\'s totally useless at the mo, you\'d be best off keeping an eye on the forums until there is a new version out.
When that happens, if you still cant access the main site, PM me and ile post you the download link.

....I had one like that.
I was out near the wild Tef\'s, and tried opening my inventory while running.
Not only did I end up stuck in a hill, but lost some stuff from my inventory, and was then promptly killed by a tef.
Then when I spawned in death realm I fell straight through the floor and spawned back in the plaza.

Not had anything like that happen since though.

meant to post about this the other day, but I was busy playing ;)

This cache hack is fantastic. Only problem is that it takes longer to load PS initially, and it lags like a B***h on my ibook - could be to do with my meager 512mb ram though.

Good little trick though :D

...thats because its unofficial.
Hopefully not for long though - I honestly believe it should be part of the mac distro. Have you asked about that ChaOs?

well I gave it a whirl, but to no avail;

Code: [Select]
configure: error:
*** Crystal Space could not be found or was unusable. The latest version is
*** always available from http://www.crystalspace3d.org/
*** Also, be sure that you have either installed Crystal Space or set the
*** CRYSTAL environment variable properly.

Unless Im mistaken, the version on the main downloads section of the site is still the old version of 3.9.

Be patient folks :D

...Just had a go at rebuilding PS - but it\'s been a while, and im getting the same error as above.
It happens after I have built CS, and causes the build of CEL to stop dead in its tracks :(

Any thoughts people?

...the biggest problem Ive had with relights is the fact that alot of textures show up incorrectly or not at all - regardless of relighting or not.

The worst place for me is the dungeons - havent been down there since MB, anyone know if the relight makes life easier down there?

Originally from an older post but I dug it up just for you:

1> start ps and go to a dark place (sewers or death realm are ideal).
2> open system preferences from the apple menu.
3> select displays.
4> click the colour tab.

on the left hand side you should now see at least one pre configured profile - simply click calibrate. This helps you set up a new profile which will appear next to your original profile in the future.

5> on the first screen of the calibration wizard make sure you check the \"expert mode\" box, as this gives you extra options which may prove useful later.
6> follow the instructions on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th screens.
7> now we come to the gamma settings screen. drag the slider all the way over to the left and click continue.
8> on the next screen do not alter the white point, simply click continue.
9> leave \"allow other users to use this calibration\" checked. click continue.
10> choose a name for your new profile - i called mine PsDarkPlaces. click continue.
11> click done.

now whenever you are in a dark place and need extra light to find your way around simply open system preferences from the apple menu, go to displays, click the colour tab and select the profile PsDarkPlaces (or whatever you called it).
Voila - extra brightness.

Just a word of warning though - remember to switch your profile back to the original configuration when you close planeshift, you will probably find this new profile too bright / harsh on the eyes for everyday computing - similarly you may wish to switch back when you are in well lit areas of the game - the easiest way to do this is to leave system prefs open on the displays screen while you are playing, then you can switch to it from the dock when you need to change profiles.

If you happen to create a profile which you no longer need you can delete it by navigating to :
MacintoshHD>library>coloursync>profiles>displays
....the profiles you create (and the default one - dont delete that!) reside here, so theyre simple enough to get rid of.

Hope this has been helpful
