Technical Help: Problems BEFORE entering the game / Visual problems.

I just downloaded it and installed the game. When I try to run it, the screen comes up over-sized with lines and the screen twitches. I\'ve tried just about everything and I know that my videocard is compatible. I run XP if that helps.
