Well Saint, I can\'t really find much to write about until CB begins, or even perhaps when PS is in its full form. However until I find something to write about, you can just ask me to write about something as long as it isn\'t completely boring.

Thanks,

One of the assassins stumbled over a well placed branch. Xyphon quickly took his chance and slashed his arm with an upward curve. He then made a swift kick to his gut and the assassin went sprawling. The other assassin was suprised for a moment, but regained his senses and leaped at the Enkidukai. Xyphon neatly stepped to one side and the careless assassin bumped his head on a hard treetrunk. Xyphon then cast his sleeping spell on the other bleeding assassin.

The two assassins were both rendered unconcious in less than two minutes.

Xyphon checked their bodies for any signs of a killer contract, or perhaps why they were sent to kill him. After searching for a bit he found a chewed up note.

\"I knew you would dispatch these fools - any Enkidukai could get rid of these. Ah, don\'t worry. I am no foe. I was simply testing you. Continue.\"

                            -The one with Gold Bands

Xyphon sat where he was standing, puzzled. He pondered what the heck was going on. The silence that followed allowed him to overhear commotion between three persons. He quickly hid in a bush and spied on them. \"Damn! A ranger! He\'ll be able to detect me!\" The Enkidukai cursed silently to himself and awaited his fate.

Well actually this forum is a bit different :P
He\'s talking about filling up the streets with NPCs, etc...
But I\'m talking about actual items that players can pick up, look at, show off, and...uh...eat? =D

Back to your comment about crates and such, that doesn\'t really do much to immersion. I would much rather have crowded streets of peasants, children playing through, an occasional yelling of a bargainer, etc. etc....

Sorry about all the disorganization, I feel...

tired..

Wish list / Useless Items
« on: June 26, 2004, 09:34:19 am »
It would actually be nice if there were some useless items in PS, because they would add to RP and are just fun to have. Such examples of items are: Furniture, utensils, monster heads, toys, rare foods, and anything else you might think of.

-PenguinX

P.S. I have a feeling that this was already mentioned, but I searched the forum already...

By the way, about the metals...

If metals had different properties and advantages over other metals, it would make a bit more variation. For example(no scientific insinuations please this is just an example, hehe), crystal cuts very well, but breaks easily. However, steel is quite durable BUT doesn\'t do -as much- damage as crystal. So either type of material isn\'t nessacarily better than eachother, they both have different advantages. There can also be different weights, magical properties, forging time, rarity, and other things. Some aesthetic reasons might be cool too, just to add a bit of flavor to the game. Maybe some radiation in a cave gave some copper a glowing property or something. There can also be different colors, transparency, shininess, and other factors.

I better stop before I ramble on =D

Name: Cow/Penguin Siege Engine

People Needed For Maximum Effectiveness: 3

Base: Varies - Can be wood or metal, only the wealthiest people can afford the metal ones.

Projectile: Poisoned, Rabid Cows/Penguins

Type of Impact: Splatter, or if the cow/penguin survives, massive biting and poisoning.

Appearance: A large wooden base is fit onto several, reinforced wood wheels. A board is placed at an angle on the base, with various types of reinforcements that are usually magically enhanced. Two posts fit in a slot on each side of the board. A wide, short piece is placed at the bottom end of the angled board. Each end of a strong string of hundreds of pieces of entwined wire is reinforced onto the posts of wood. the loop is tightly stretched over the needle.(This is what all the Cow/Penguin Siege Engines have in common. Some are endorned with intricate dwarven designs, some have automated tools that automatically release the string, and some might even have additional magical enchantments. It depends on the creator\'s imagination and how wealthy he/she is.

Strengths: Quite effective against organic targets. Causes extreme panic among troops. Rabidness actually spreads through magical means. Many types of poison may be applied. In case cows are not available, penguins may be used.

Weaknesses: Although it\'s a siege engines, completely useless against non-organic targets unless it needs a red/green painting job. Over usage of this weapon might starve local cities that depend on dairy farms for survival. The rabies part of the cows almost never works because the actual cow has a low chance of surviving when launched. In addition, the poor cows/penguins are badly treated.

Costs: Varies, but is usually quite expensive. It\'s also difficult to convince farmers to lend their cows for ammunition. As for rabidness, it is sometimes dangerous to go look for a rabid wolf to contaminate the cows. For poison, it is not required, but greatly increases effectiveness, especially because it\'s difficult for cows to administer rabies when they are dead.

*I\'m not sure if this is original or not, but if cows aren\'t original, then I\'ll go with penguins instead >=D

Well I have a bunch of thoughts.

For one, that article is freakin hilarious, hehe. Except for the racial Korean remarks >:(.

As for powergamers, the only problem I have with them is that they are so obsessed with their game of choice that they shun ANYONE who -slightly- gets in the way of their full concentration. Anything else that might be wrong with their intelligence, common sense, etc. probably doesn\'t have to do with powergaming =D

Sorry about the newb question, I guess I\'m just slow(not to mention lazy).

What kind of spells/element/purpose does each way have? (i.e. Cold, Flame, Utility, Illusion, etc.)

(Dot dot dot...)

O...M...G!!!!!!!!!!

I was just checking the main website expecting no news, but the second that news item appeared my heart started pounding like a heart attack. I was a bit disappointed that CB wasn\'t actually released yet, but I\'m extremely glad that the devs are \"close\" to finishing it. If I expected it soon, I would probably kill myself during the next 6 years, so I think I\'ll just keep my hopes down.

But thanks a bunch...gotta start warning loved ones...hehe >=)

Collaborative Stories / An Enkidukai's Loyalty; Chapter 1: Assassins
« on: June 18, 2004, 09:13:23 am »
(*Note: My first post, hope you like it)

Xyphon, the Enkidukai, stared intently upon the disappearing avian and his rider. He had recently witnessed her feast upon the evil creature and was half impressed and half disgusted. Nevertheless, he was bound by loyalty to travel to the Hydlaa Plaza and talked to an old man with two gold bands on his neck. A dying friend had asked him this, with no further details. Xyphon was quite mystified, but felt sure that this task must be carried out.

The Enkidukai skipped easily along a dirt path through the open wildlands. Little did he know that he was being tracked by two assassins, who were as slick as oil and as deadly as poison. They could have killed him there and now, but they had to bide their time.

Xyphon found a tree stump and suddenly discovered some fresh, edible berries nearby. He had immediately remembered that he had traveled 2 days nonstop and was extremely exhausted. Xyphon quickly plucked the berries and stuffed it in his mouth. Each mouthful of the lucious, sweet berries seem to tantalize his hunger pangs and he longed for more. Soon he was a big pile of purple goo.

The assassins thought that this opportunity was an excellent one to strike, so they quickly notched poisoned arrows to their shortbows.

Xyphon noticed a slight rustling coming from his right. After a few seconds he had suddenly realized that was the sound of a bowstring twang! He quickly leaped behind a nearby rock and was rewarded by a twang of arrows quivering moments where he was. Xyphon silently wrapped his paw around his runic crescent and went over the words of his sleep spell.

The assassins could not see well through the congested plants and trees, so they were suprised that their target\'s corpse seemed to have teleported. Each assassin cautiously searched the area.

Xyphon, using his superior senses as an Enkidukai, crouched in an attacking position toward one of the assassins.

(To be Continued...)
