I did not yet replay the Dryken Plane after the changes Talad made to it.

I have mixed thoughts and feelings about it as well. On one hand, yeah, it is something new, on the other hand I do not yet get how it fits into the existing lore and wonder whether there are plans to pick up on what happens in Dryken Plane with a later quest in real game. One thing also is that an existing player can not (easily or if at all) visit Dryken Plane to look out and help new players.

And well, also the previous tutorial has gone missing. I have seen some negative feedback about the previous tutorial on Youtube for it being too long and some such, so maybe Dryken Plane if newbies can make it through it quickly enough while also have some enjoyment or some interesting insight in the lore from doing so plus hints for the first times you access something in game, pop ups, could be a better replacement. Back then when I started PlaneShift I enjoyed the tutorial. It was not too long for me. Only thing was that I had a hard time figuring out how to leave the tutorial area at the first time. I did initially get that I had to run back where the tutorial started.

However in all of this I find it quite challenging to go through the Dryken Plane how a newbie would do. So it may be best to ask some interested newbies to actually do so and provide feedback. I do not know anyone to ask right now, but will think about it.

Great new version with quite some important bug fixes. I especially like that after leaving combat mode mouse pointer is not locked to the PSUnreal window anymore.

What an achievement! Great work

Damola explored the newly added Dermorian village Raurim:



Also she checked out the new Sarraghi Dsar in Ojaveda – she loved to watch the windmills…



… and was fascinated by the colors of the powders at the market place – claiming her new market stall already  ;D:

I have more images, but I do not like to spoil exploring yourself, so omitting these for now. Well, okay, maybe just one more – achievement completed:



(Well an easy achievement that is. But was fun nonetheless.)

PSUnreal is getting better and better. I am truly impressed! Thank you dearly!

Test played a bit longer.

Really well made. Two more observations for now:

1) NPCs that attack Damola while she is on a mount, do not seem to do any damage.

2) Vice versa Damola cannot cast anything while on a mount. But the later might be intentional?

3) While on mount it still happens that Damola is sitting on the mount in the wrong direction. I even had this continue after she dismounted and the animation was showing here running side wards while she run forwards.

Can report those as well, but need to check first whether they are already reported.

Great release, Talad and dev team! Thanks a lot for your work!

I tested briefly and have just a few comments. I can file issues at a later time.

1) Guild house works. About wrongly rotated items, it is not too bad. Yeah, there is some work to be done, but it is not too much. One thing I noticed though: Collision detection for items in guild house is off. So I can run through carpets and beds and what have you. Within guild houses I think collision detection for items is supposed to be on.

2) I am not too found of the split of the top menu bar in three panels. I'd like to have an option to turn it back in case there is not already done, did not check. Why? On one hand I easily have the resolution to handle more items in one row. On another hand, now often enough it is two clicks instead of one to reach a certain functionality. If you have some artist at hand, I suggest improving the icons instead so they are more different to each other.

Okay, that is it for now.

Now that is nice.

It can be extended to trails on certain kind of land, like for example when there is thick grass.

I believe for it too make sense, the server would need to record trails and let them fade out after a while. In addition to having the effect. I think that would be quite some work.

I really like the notion of this as it would mean that at least temporarily, characters leave a mark on the landscape.

But imagine a GM event where there would be real trails to follow some bad guy. That would be nice.

I quite like that you really thought about how it could look like for a Nolthrir.

Did you dig details up from existing lore?

Where do you have from that Nolthrir cannot cooked food? I am just asking cause I did not run across it. It makes some sense to me as how would you make a fire to heat something under water. But on the other hand, as far as I got Nolthrir are not necessarily living completely under water even in their natural water rich living place.

I very much concur with your idea about seaweed. Currently I RP that Damola's parents send her some from time to time, so that she does not need to starve on that completely.

A bit of a challenge for this idea is where to allow for that? And how to distribute underwater space between different players, especially as there won't be fences as you suggested. As far as I am aware almost any stuff from players outside of guild houses is cleaned from Yliakum partly automatically and partly by game masters from time to time. There are some exception like special books at special locations you cannot reach easily.

But its really a good start and I liked that you actually thought about what would make sense for a Nolthrir.

Interesting idea. We talked about like having a garden in some dev q&a.

I only managed to test if briefly so far.

Could it be that movement on mount had some fixes? Sometimes Damola was sitting in the wrong angle on her mount after some turning around, this appeared to be fixed during my quick tests.
