So here is my report of a mistake, though not really a spelling mistake:

should be somewhat like this:

I would find it annoying and tiring to read \"usfull\" and \"awwar\".  This is one reason many newbs and n00bs bother me.  I really hate tranlating.

Truly, if someone notices a spelling mistake, it really does notch a proffessionalism point off their mind.

Anywho, this is a kind of wierd form of fun!  (and it\'s actually a bit beneficial too.)

I imagine a degree in Journalism (Writing) would qualify me for a PR position or content developer for Planeshift, wouldn\'t it?  I have seen many English grammar, spelling and punctuation errors on this site, but I\'ve managed to ignore them because I understand the devs are from foreign countries.  Abemore is ultimately correct on this issue - correct spelling and grammar on the main site and in the player\'s guide would give the game a more polished and professional feel.
     I\'m just putting the feelers out there to see if I get any feedback.  I know the devs are working on Crystal Blue, so I don\'t expect much of a response.  I do think the devs need to tap the talents of its community a little more in order to speed up the creation of PS.

Online dictionaries help if you (anyone) have problems with spelling - at least if you are uncertain about the spelling of a word that is.

Dict.leo.org (german-english, english-german - one of the biggest around I think, also got a german-french one now)
Pauker.at (german to 14 other languages - not much content in some languages though)

The key thing with getting spelling, grammar, and punctuation right is proofreading!!! After every change, the whole thing should be read back over to check for errors AND to make sure it sounds good. Also, having \"check spelling while you type\" on is a good way to avoid most spelling errors. Then you can\'t forget to run spellcheck. *Pats Safari. Apple did a good job with it. Anyway, back to my point: proofreading eliminates 99% of errors, seriously. The more you proofread, the better it gets. And, as an added bonus, what you write will sound better.

PS team, I don\'t think that you necessarily need anyone professional, just someone intelligent who has a good grasp of English grammar, punctuation, and the *sound* of the language. Many people on this forum would be more than qualified to do it. I\'m also sure that many of them *want* to help. This would be a good way to make the site more professional while also helping some forum members fulfill their wish to help. It\'s a win-win situation.

by the way... that should have been contraction, not conjunction, and I have seen multiple consecutive exclamation points all over the place on these forums... But, then again, a very small percentage of people on these forums care about grammar and punctuation, and a smaller portion care about getting a more professional look from varying sentence structure. And the better part of those people have already posted in this thread!

On the forums, some punctuation rules are waived to help you get tone and meaning across (which are more important in a forum context). For instance, within limits, additional exclamation points indicate more emphasis/volume. Asterisks (*) can be used to indicate actions and/or emphasis. These rules don\'t apply to the Planeshift main page, though. Anyway, it\'d look more professional if someone were to proofread the PS site... On the other hand, it\'s not *that* big a deal.
