Few Questions
« on: October 01, 2004, 04:26:57 pm »
Hi I\'m new and I want to play this game but first I would like to know some things.
First of all I was wondering if the game is complete?
Second is it tru that u don\'t have to pay for play monthly or is there a catch?
And do I have to download all those parts or just one of em?

GREETZ,

Greets Gouki,

All of your questions are extremely common and have been answered a million times before. With a few minutes of searching, you could have found out the information yourself. That said, I\'ll give you the answers, but next time try to use your head. :)

1. The game is currently in its pre-alpha stages of development. Alpha is pre-Beta. So in other words, it\'s still very young.

2. There is no catch. PlaneShift is free and open-source. The development team are volunteers who are not paid for the job and spend all of their free time on this project. The server and hosting needed for a MMORPG of this scale is kindly donated by the Fragnetics team. Thus no fees are asked of us players, nor will there ever be.

3. Read the download instructions. It says to download all 5 parts plus the reassembler. Put them all in the same folder. Run the .bat file. Then run the new file that is created. Then install the game.

Now I can already see a horde of angry posters coming to flame you for asking silly questions, so I\'m gonna duck and hide for cover. ;) Good luck.

Well personally, I can think of things I\'d rather be doing than pandering to lazy people, but when I\'m not in a bad mood, the urge to be kind and helpful overwhelms me. ;) But just as a common courtesy, please make use of the button. :)
