I?ve tried a lot of games. Most of them have a big probelm: Godlike Players or Items!

And im tired of that. I think, even an high Level Char can die. So the first thing should be: very slow or \"soft\" improvments on Level-up or better Items.
Its not real, that a 10 Lvl Char can take 100 swordhits! Or a 5 Level Char only 50! So: Let it be \"small steps\"!

Second: Evere Good thing have a dark side, every advantage have its disadvantages.
My wish is: the more better an Item or skill is, the more it has its disadvantages!
So should it be with every item and skill.

Also an item shouldnt be perfekt in every way.

If you well equiped with the finest stuff you should have an achilles-ferse (<- dont know if it is correkt. I mean a \"weak point\").

How do you think of that? I find it very important.

There are no levels in Planeshift.

P.S. At least character levels...I know there are levels of the world please do not repeat the joke ;)

The thing of it is, why /shouldn\'t/ a character with more time put into it be better than one with less time? And some stuff makes no sense to have disadvantages. Why would wearing a better, lighter armor of a stronger metal have any sort of disadvantage? Or a staff that makes your spells more efficient? That /is/ the whole point of putting any time into a characters skills or items, isn\'t it?

Players will have weak points on their own.  If your character is inclined toward magic then your weak area will be melee.  If your character is inclined toward melee then your weak area will be against magic and ranged weapons.  You don\'t need to nerf items to accomplish this.  I know what you are saying about \"godlike\" characters, but if someone puts the time in to make a godlike character then I think they deserve to be a godlike character.  I played EQ for several years (EQ is saturated with powergamers) and never had a godlike character (didn\'t have the time) but I still had plenty of fun.  Godlike characters and powergamers only detract from the game if you let them.

I never understand why there ever wera a sword of \"?ber
extrem peneltration gold mk2k\", it is not the sword that got
the skill, it is the person wielding it who got it...

The lighter armor and better metal thing then? There don\'t
have to be hundreds of different metals...

I\'m not against the fact that you can be ?ber-master in one
thing, but you should not be able to be a master of all
trades...

AgentZ: I didn?t say that you came become better. I?ll become better but it shouldnt be too much.

Why can a better armor be lighter? Now you will say: better material... thats what all games are!
It should have disadvantages againts electrical, ice or something like that. In the real live, every thing have a disabvantage. Think about it.

ArcaneFalcon: That kind of weak point is in every game, reducing the weak points to just 3 or 4 options... thats not very deep... just base melee, socery...
Thats like al the games handle it.

But it looks, that you want it that way. kind of simple.
Don?t you think that a near perfekt warrior could die by a swordhit? He shouldnt be a unrealistic and superstrong.

Or do you want it more unreal? I tought it base on our physics and senses...

Androgos, They were two of the most teasing sentences I\'ve ever read... you can taste the anticipation...

Lystra, I agree that too far from realism is silly, but... completely real would be boring... You\'d die in every fight, possibly from bloodloss, but to make it more realistic, you\'d be able to die from shock, so a minor wound, or a comrade\'s death could kill you...

It wouldn\'t work.

I too dislike ultimate items, but I can see the merit in having acquired them without PL...
