Where players should start for the first time
« on: November 15, 2004, 04:32:26 am »
Do you guys think all players should start in one town or should players have the choice of where they want to start?

It\'s debatable. I don\'t mind having all noobs starting in one city but you have more feeling of pride when you choose what city or area you want to start off in the beginning of the game. On the other hand everyone starting in one city gives noobs more of a chance to find help.

Arg I could comment on how useless this thead is, but I\'d be in violation of the NDA. So in short, don\'t worry about it. When you logg into CB for the first time you\'ll know what I mean. If you mean for versions past cb, its almost a given. Every MMO out there gives you an option to choose a home town.

I\'m back.... Perhaps in black.

That\'s not true. DAoC, WoW... these are chosen on race/realm etc.
Well, looks like we got an answer... or rather worked one out ourselves. No violation of the NDA, yay.

Past versions? I was maybe one of the few 5 or 6 people that ever logged on to Atomic Blue. Any oldbies remember Atomic Blue? Hydlaa was quiet no one there, couldn\'t go inside anywhere at all...

Anyways Adeli is right not all MMORPG games let you choose the option of starting where you want...

BTW: In Atomic Blue the layout of Hydlaa was a tad different...

I personally think that it would add more to role playing if a certain character/race would start out in his/her home town/cave/land/stream etc.!

Hopefully this will be possible.

Owl, I agree completely.

Imagine 50 Enkidukai making their home in a solely dermorian village. It would be silly.
