The australian tiger beetle can reach speeds of over 5 mph (thats faster than most people can run) and its under an inch long. If this beetle was ever grown to the size of the Ceatac\'e it would travel well over 250 mph.

I\'m back.... Perhaps in black.

First of all 5mph is alot slower then most people can run. 5mph equates to a 12 minute mile. Current world record for the mile is around 3:43. Also the world record holder for the 100m ran that at approximatley 25mph.

Muscles also do not work completly the way you are thinking. The larger that animal would get would also increase several other factors in the muscle structures and not allow the muscle twitch to work at such a great speed. In speed would not increase proportionatly to the size increase.

Danny the point you are missing is that the problem is Consistency. The exposed brain, the glass tube, dosen\'t \"match\" the overall theme of the game.

So while the game is a fantasy, you need to think about it this way. Do you think a game would be good if it had zombies, dragons, killer monkies, flying elephants, and talking bugs? The developers have choosen to stick to a theme within the fantasy universe, and in their eyes, your idea is too far fetched.

However, the idea of a large, wingless bird you can ride sounds cool. How about you remove the brain manipulation part, and the glyph part, and just made it a fast animal, that requires alot of taming to control (thus making them expensive, and for the noble class only.) I think the devs would like that alot more.
Ever wanted to make a game, but you didn?t have the experience? We are making a 2d RPG and need scripters, artists, writers and world builders! Send an application, prior experience is not necessary!

That makes sense Talonder. I don\'t like the exposed brain bit at all.
Seytra did give a logical reason for it though.

I am shamed to admit I had never thought of the actual speed proposed.
A bug could crush your skull if you hit it at that speed without protection such as a windscreen.
I\'ve never heard of an Australian Tiger beetle, where are they found? State... I mean obviously it\'s Australian, but north, south?

In a way Danny was right. Boldstorm he said most people, most people are not athletes and world record holders, they are elites. Most people are tending to become fat, lazy slobs. The obesity level is skyrocketing.
So he\'s partially right.

OT: Talonder, I am seriously considering your proposal and I will let you know the moment I decide.

I like Red Jelly Beans!
