Dreamhack
« on: November 25, 2004, 09:11:30 pm »
Hello everyone. I\'m sitting on the worlds greatest computer-festival Dreamhack in J?nk?ping/Sweden (It\'s a little bit funny that the worlds biggest computer-festival is held in a little city in sweden, but it\'s great because I happened to be in the surroundings and therefore I couldn\'t miss it).
6000 persons with 6000 computers is sitting in a huge hall, playing games and participate in competitions, exchanging data, drinking Jolt-cola, showing off their modded computers, and talk to each other about what is mentioned above.
Great fun if you\'re interested in games, modding, or if you just wanna feel the athmosphere.

So here I am, and I feel great. Is anyone else here as well, or have you been here before?

Life is a game  ;)

DreamHack.. Founded to be a central for computer geeks to code 64k demos, do music mods and so on.. Now it\'s mainly only CS and gamers who don\'t even know what a security patch is..
Really really sad..

Huge is the word, it holds the record as the biggest LAN in the world with 6000 participants. Mainly it\'s for gamers, and for those interested in creating games.
They have things on the program like \"how to create sounds and music for video games\", \"how to create 2D/3d graphics\" and so on. It\'s really fun to listen to pros on the different areas.
Also there is schools for game-creation who are holding exhibitions, live-counterstrike, different game-designers who shows their products, Gaming-competitions, artists etc.

Hey, it\'s only 600 km from here! I\'d prefer 60 though. :P
Sounds like great fun, I haven\'t been on this kind of event yet.
