The Finest Wood From the Finest Tree to make a Fine bow..    if your going to make a bow out of common... cheep wood its not going to be as good, and same for swords

Hmmm.. Not sure about the fiberglass bit !

But you\'re right about the not losing power bit.  Bows very seldom lose power and if they do it\'s almost always due to string stretching.  The archer could just retension the string of his longbow/crossbow if he felt that it was not taking as much damage.  While I support having repairable damage done to bows in accordance to a \"broken string\" roll I don\'t think they should take permanent damage unless they are used to block hits.  If this is implemented using the bow to block should almost certainly result in string damage.

If I were blocking with a bow I don\'t think I\'d spin it around so that they could cut the string with their weapon.........

But if you hit it with a sword/axe/bommyknocker the bow itself would be sure to snap and if it didn\'t the bow would bend enough for the string to come loose, snap or fall off.  

It\'s also likely that the string would break on something as the bow was pushed down by the sword or bommyknocker.  The attacker could also aim for the string as he hit.
