Great work on CB!
« on: December 26, 2004, 04:37:59 am »
Just wanted to say I really like CB so-far. Although it\'s inconsistently good... for example I think the login graphics are awesome (same style should be used throughout IMO) & what\'s been done with the GUI is *ahem* genius (especially) the macro/command buttons you can edit in-game and bind to! (lil\' bit buggy atm but worth the growing pains).

  Humm and as side note is it possible to bind multiple commands to \'em. e.g;
------------------
name: Slap

/say Hey! watch where your goin\' fool
/challenge
------------------

   Anyway Updater rocks! nice to see that these live bugfixes & additions are being added as we go along. Not overly chuffed about new character models (and subsequent loss of skins) /me cries. But I\'m sure you have your reasons... but why oh why split the skin into seperate body parts images? O.o

Random suggestions;

1.) Possible to select which town you /spawn to? or come back from the death realm in.

2.) A (slightly) faster transport method to get to the enki town.

3.) A really basic hand-drawn map splash-screen thingie :P

4.) Random monster spawns in expansive wilderness area... that give chase (possibly?).

5.) In the floating name text would it be possible to indicate profession by a diff colour? e.g advisor/player-trader. The examine thing works fine but would it be possible to condense some of this info down.

   I\'m sure you\'ve thought of this stuff already but would help shift a lot of players outside Hydlaa for reasons other than merchant/questin\'.

-EDIT: Sorry for posting in the Tech help section :( please move/delete me

Floating name things

Yep i\'m all for removing them entirely! (realism and all that jazz) after all how would you know anything if you\'d not met that person before name/guild etc. But at the moment with only one skin per race/gender you\'d never recognise anyone :D Not entirely sure what I\'m trying to get at with this suggestion... humm O.o something... definatley something

They should stay....

The only thing I dislike is the Darkness of the levels, but that may be my monitor :D
Sometimes the lack of Radar is a bummer. Plz do not say this is not realistic, World of Warcraft did it, and it adds to gameplay, and look, they are #1 selling MMO ;)

If it is, my monitor is in the same condition.  Things are definitely a bit darker than MB.  Maybe they could sell minor\'s caps?  ;)

Realism!? yeah count me in

Radar\'s... hummm that\'s not realistic :P

   At the end of the day it\'s the players that will ultimatley mould planeshift and dicate how it eventually turns out I guess, but for me personally I\'m looking for the realistic \'live-a-life\' experiance rather than power-leveling nonsense so anything that adds \'realism\' is a good thing. Yes I\'m sad :D and loving it! flog me

I\'d love to knock WoW (the #1 selling MMO) but I\'ve not played it so i can\'t :(

--> Ya ditto on the darkness thingie :( sure you can boost the gamma/brightness with your nIVIDA advanced setting (and apply to \'all) but just upping the environ light level in the sewers should sort it (is this possible by editing a lighting.xml type thing?). Atm the rats are just black shapes :(

I wouldn\'t even see some of them if it wasn\'t for the blue names over them.

As for radar, maybe just coordinates by the fps?

I like CB too. I think this is better than DAOC but in fact... it\'ll be better than DAOC because I can\'t play for a long time (linkdead and some letters miss in my font policy)... I hope fixing these bugs wont take a lot of time cause I really hope map extensions and new npc will comes very soon!!!

You are good developpers and from the beginning I saw in CB a way to show others that open source free softwares and linux are good solutions!!! I hope you\'ll keep being successful in your job! I wish you it!
