From the beginning
« on: May 29, 2002, 05:42:20 pm »
(this is made up of how the Elves and Dwarves were discovered, and how they split, note: this is only the intro to it:)) .be aware, this is just my ideas:), not the real history, unless of course, they want it to be;) ).
It began nearly 19,000 years ago, when the elves were of one race.  Living in the lush green forest of the surface, which the elves of that time called Dymorin.  It was near the calm waters of the ocean, opposite of the land that would become home to the Dermorian\'s for some years....The elves looked somewhat like the Dermorian\'s do today, except perhaps the fact that they were tanner from the sun, and used magics heavily in everyday life.  They were peaceful, killing only what was needed.  The vast landscape of forest and water had lead them to have no enemies, for they were in a hidden spot, away from the dwarves in the mountains of the west, and of the humans beginning in the north....The only peoples besides animals that they had found were the Klyros, who they were amazed by.  The Klyros seemed to be half dragon half aquatic animal, one group especially was intrigued by this.  The elves had many skilled rangers and druids, always traveling, discovering new things...A ranger named Jorin left one message before dissapearing, many wizards to this day wonder what it means....

The Diary of Jorin Sulirnio Desagula

Today in the raining month of Rinrii(April), I discovered the bodies of slaughtered Klyros\'.  This is a rare finding, normally the Klyros can kill off most things or fly away when in too much trouble...But on his body were blackened scorch marks, ones that seemed to come from the power of dark mages, I have sent my horse back with a shattered staff, in hope that the wizards at home will know what this...sceptor is, perhaps it is evil, i do not know....but I believe it is what burned and killed this group of Klyros...
As I wonder far into the eastern lands, through plains, I came onto a wondering person, he was not an Elf or a Klyros, but he appeared to be more similar to us elves in the humanoid features, but he was shorter, than us, nearly only half my height, yet much stronger....He called him self a Dwuarif, which roughly translates to the word Dwarf in elvish, meaning Man of the Mountains....We could talk little, because the tongue he and I spoke was not the same, but it was quite similar.....I was able to get news from him of a new magic, one that had killed many Dwuarifs...He said that the Dwarves had never been interested in magic, but they had used a bit of sorcery before....The Dwuarifs called this magic necromancy, it was a frightening magic they said, dealing with killing only...The dwarf gave me a message to send to our translators, he said it was in what was called the Human Tongue, I wish you luck with finding it out...here it is:

Dear friends, i pray that Jouritt gave you this note, tis in the only tongue that you may know, the Dragon Men Klyros know the tongue, I can only pray they find this, or the Eliven magics can identify it...To the ore(business) of matters, yet not even a month ago, our dwarves were in the mines of the dangerous but rich caves of Emerinal...We saw a hooded figure standing at the Iron Gate(entrance to the cavern mines), we figured they were back to check the prices of our fine armor, or even back for more gold, those humans are quite fond of jewelry, not to say we arent....As the figure walked in, the lead smither walked up to the shadowed man, the old dwarf began floating in mid air, suffocating...The cloaked man took off his hood, revealing a grimacing blood colored face...He suddenly smirked and thru the dwarf into a wall, all with the movement of his eyes....Four dwarf warriors grabbed newly crafted swords and charged with enraged force at the blood-man, which we call Devivro...The man began to levitate, a simple sorcery trick, but he did not just levitate a few inches, he flew up nearly 80 feet, he glared down and clenched his fist, raising it up, and out of the ground raised skeletons of dwarves...The four dwarves were terrified of the bone warriors, who seemed to be commanded by the evil Devivro...They had twisted metal weapons, which were thousands of years old, burried beneath the mines with the brave warriors...The Devivro began to chant something, in a voice of darkness, of hatred, and the ground began to burst of lava....Dwarves ran all around..one young yet strong sorcerer stayed and tried to attack him, the young dwarf levitated to avoid lava, going nearly 30 feet, something unheard of by dwarves. The dwarf began to chant his own spell, roots shot down from the ceiling of the mountain, grasping at the Blood Man...The blood man held a staff out, absorbing the roots, he turned down at the sorcerer, and pointed the staff at him...The dwarf knew it was the end for him, yet he stood brave, ready for death....But as the Blood Man began to chant a spell, an old wisened dwarf lunged, using all his energy to levitate to the height of the Devivro...He chanted a spell, a powerful one, even by Klyros standards(Klyros were mild casters, but amazingly powerful to dwarves)...Ice shot from the fingers of the dwarf, freezing the Devivro, making him fall to the abyss of the lava below, it slaughtered the skeletons.....The young dwarf was saved, but barely.......This is the end of the tale, and I can assure you it was true..for I was the young dwarf....
Good luck to you in discovering the source of the magic, and who the Blood-Men are,

Gorin Serirus
Son of The Dragon Slayer
Clan Axe Wielder

Three mages rushed into the stone and moss covered room.  \"Do you have the sceptor?\"The eldest mage, Reolis asked.  \"Yessir, right here sir!\" A young wizard said, shifting slightly after touching the sceptor.  \"Sir, it gives me an uncomfortable feeling when touching it, a type of feeling of death, as if something is being drained from me, my soul itself.\"
\"Eh tough it out, we must translate the writings of it, the letter from Jorin said it seemed to cast fire, perhaps the legend of the Fire Folk is true...\" The second figure, Terisil, spoke for the first time, \"Reolis, my good mentor, perhaps you could enlighten us with this legend of this mysterious object.\"
Alright then, Reolis began, here it goes\"  Back before, when the elves and the klyros were just beginnings, when I was young, when mages were few, and metal weapons were even fewer.  Sceptors and staffs were a common sight, most just had simple enchantments which would stun the victom, or scorch it slightly...But there was Blood-men, who us elves called Diabloui, they crafted weapons of fire, which at there will could burn a person to ashes, or summon the dead as servants...The powers were amazing, and deadly...For this fact, the elves pushed away the Diabloui\'s, erasing the scrolls of there comings, for they were a dangerous people....Only a few elves, such as myself, can remember this happening, yet it should not have been erased, we should have been aware of the doings of these evil creatures.  It was one of the mistakes of the old.\"
\"Now that is enough of story time, lets get to translating this!\"

Terisil and the young wizard Leorin stood silently, watching Reolis chanting ancient words, some they understood, some in a tongue so strange it was amazing that Reolis could speak it.  They gathered around the staff on the white marble table.....The staff shook around sparks shooting off the table, a dark mist began to arise in the room, making things disapear in the abyss...ancient artifacts, much older then Reolis, began to burn with a black flame, the staff whispered something, in an evil tongue, the Diablouis tongue...Trakic mordiu bashiru muari ...then the room went black, the only light in the room was the scared and old fire in the eyes of Reolis...\"It is a Shadow Bringer, a Forteller of Death....If you see one of these, you know the Diabloui are coming, and there is no stopping thousands of Necromancers, each one with the staff like this, each one with the power to destroy the finest dwarven warriors, to defeat the best sorcerors and wizards we have...\" Reolis tried not to show the fear, but it was an unstoppable look, all the memories rushing back, of death and of defeat... \"Reolis, if it is ok, could you perhaps tell us more of the Diabloui, for sure you have information of them.\"  The young Leorin said. \"Of course young one I have the history of them, althought I do not know if I can come to it and tell of them...When they attacked, I lost many friends in the Riynil Battle, nearly half were killed by sceptors and necromancers that you have seen and heard about this day.\" But, I think it would be a good time to tell you of them, I believe when they attack we will need to summon more strength then what we have...
