Character name?!

Will it be possible to choose one name in the final version?

Or do we have to pick two names?
Currently i have one name and everything works well.

single names were in the last version. Due to unroleplayable names the developers put a double naming system into CB. First names will be unique, last names will not.

Double names are not required. PS works fine with single names. The double name restriction was removed recently.

i just want to confirm. it probably is pretty straight forward. but, single names probably have to unique relative to first names as well?

Yet another question surfaces!

the character name is tied to ones E-mail addres, will this be kept or do you have to register that as well after the great wipe?

A date, or at least an estimate would be advisable if you want to be fast enough to register your preffered name once again before some one else snathes it away!

If you have migrated a char, then you\'ll basicly have to start over from the second step of the migration (creating CB account with same email).
If you don\' have a migrated char, then you\'ll start out clean, i.e., create CB account with arbitrary email.

In any case, no information that has been generated after the MB server has been shut down will be retained.

There will not be any date for the wipe, because there is no way of telling when all the exploitable bugs have been found and fixed. PS is basicly a deadlineless game. :P

Just wandering, why was the double name system done away with?  I thought it was a good idea and would add a more RP feel.

That is unless surnames were not common in this world and time.  Names in our own world(rl) have changed many times throughout history so this would not be uncommon.

i\'m with kwip on this i like the double name idea they should keep it that way.

on the subject of data wipe does this mean i can redo my char generation because i think i really messed up when i made rumblebelly and i would love the chance to recreate him now that i understand all the different thing\'s about char building

Character creation has to be redone by everyone since there are still some races/classes to be added to this game and not all functions are (well... em), functioning hehe!

Stick with the one name option though, however i\'m not totally opposed to having to pick two names either.
So make it optional, some want two names others use one name, everyone happy!

I think two names should be the default, but with a radio button to allow one name only if the player wishes. Make it so that the player has to be paying attention if he or she wants to use one name only...

Yes, get them to think about it. Most people probably never thought of the option of actually having a surname. I\'m going to keep using a surname, but I realise that in medieval times, the option of actually only possessing one name was quite there.
