search by author bugs
« on: January 10, 2005, 02:08:41 pm »
I just tried seraching for my own comments (Username: dimaq, exact match: on)
I got a page of results, with threads containing my posts at the top (I think) and (i think) some unrelated threads...

and this at the bottom:
Showing 1 to 30 of 11373 threads found. [ links to pages ]

all the next pages show unrelated threads

We know, you\'re definitely not the first person to point it out. :) But the devs don\'t seem to be able to fix it. This forum is old software anyways.

Well, I can either work on fixing the forums or I can work on the game, guess what I\'d rather do :).

Switching forums is not an option.  Maybe in some down time I can take a look at the searching features.

You just need to go to either the profile of the person or to a post by them, then hit the \"search\" button on these pages / the post itself. This will yield the desired results. IOW, it\'s just the general search page that is bugged, the search itself can do it.

not an issue anymore due to the new forum software.  -----nekkoooooooo
