Use bittorrent for faster downloads

Would it be possible to distribute the game with bittorrent?
With few downloads there is no harm, and with several downloads the benefits are both faster download time for clients and less load on server.

Linux bittorrent download?

I see that there is no linux bittorrent download, only windows.
Would it be possible to convince the planeshift team to make bittorrent files available on a regular basis on the http://www.planeshift.it/download.html page?
