Now, first off, I\'m not starting a guild, or joining one, I just had the idea. Feel free to use it or ignore it.
The Basis: As many rat-hunters know, the rats spawn in one area, then run out of it, often towards nastier areas. Some of the areas also contain some truly nasty creatures (the battle axe rogue, those mutant rats that can hit harder than any gobble, etc) which are a serious threat to new characters. Further, the rat-farming gets really really tedious after awhile, especially if you get dropped off the world and sent to the land of the dead during your run. Suffice to say, there\'s ways to make it easier on people, particularly the newer folks.
A Solution: I suggest Game Wardens within guilds(Game as in \"Animal you hunt\" ) , who spend their time in the spawn points beating the snot out of creatures and, in general, keeping them near their burrows. They\'ll slowly gain XP like good rangers, but also can sell the rat parts they collect to those who show up, for half price, thus saving themselves the effort of running back and forth, while letting weaker characters refrain from dying until they can afford a decent weapon. In doing so, they also keep the creatures from wandering off -too- far, and, provided they\'re powerful enough, they can help weaklings out when some uberbeastie comes after them.
As such, it sounds like a reasonable way to make profit and XP, to meet and socialize (The Wardens will have plenty of time to chat while rat-smacking, and of course RPing the sales of rat chunks), makes life a little easier for newbies without just handing it to them outright, and is as close to being a ranger as you can be at the moment.
Just thought I\'d throw it out there.
