How does the search option work???

No not a noob question but a question about how it technically works.

When I go to the search option and search for Username (Gilibran) then select \"match exact name\" \"all forums\"
\"search all forums\" I get 430 topics??

Here\'s the strange part besides this post/topic I only have posted 73 times up till now!!

does the search function also include topics you only read?

perhaps I\'m using it wrong but the search option in my opinion is a bloody mess!??

Perhaps that\'s why so many topics get started a new??

The search system seems to be    \"bugged\"

i\'m running under MS XP home if anyone wonders, and ie 6 but i doubt that microsuck has anything to do with it in this case?

I checked on other forums i\'m on and I don\'t get strange results there when searching

The search function seems to be faulty when it comes to certain things, yes. I have no idea what causes it, but it is known to others than you.

I never get any results at all when I use the search button.

Using the Search function for Keywords works perfectly. Using it to search for Members does not.
